Fuck, that was probably one of the best posts in the mighty football thread so far.
My thoughts exactly, I just never knew how to say it and I didn't know all that shit either.
Wrexham FC are 'only' £900k in debt... that's
nothing
for Premier League teams. It's a fucking disgrace that they won't help the lower league clubs at all. The gap between the Premier League and anything below that is MASSIVE. Money has ruined everything in football. Money has ruined the whole fucking planet actually.
God I hate football,
fuckfuckfuck
, but I fucking love it.
Sorry, rant over. _________________

about football and wrexham right, i heard their boss denis smith being interviewed by that dick cheese nicky campbell this morning. campbell's line of questionning was characteristally lazy. he pushed denis smith into revealling what his players earned, and smith revealed that his top earner was on £70k per year.
in football, that's nowt, but neither me nor anyone i know will probably ever earn that in a year in our lives.
i know with wrexham that the problems are nothing to do with anything other than this guy who is trying to make a killing out of selling the club, but the fact the going rate for the better players at a decidedly average division two side (coca cola league one/whatever!) is £70,000 per year must surely be enough to make every fan of a lower divisions club boycott the game this weekend! |

Hey, bc, you don't hate football enough to be missing the Olympiakos game on Wednesday night, do you?
Cos the ticket is still here, and it still has your name on it; metaphorically speaking, of course. _________________ The Musical Mystery Tour,

There's only one choice: the Albert.
Bring your laptop along, and improvise a scat electronic version of Poor Scouser Tommy... that would go down a storm.
I'm getting the train in from Chester, and I've got my daughter until 5 - so, I should be in L4 for 6:30pm-ish... depending upon when the Soccer Bus runs start.
I can't wait, me, either. _________________ The Musical Mystery Tour,

Also, Freddy Shepherd, the Newcastle United chairman - what a fucking wanker!
"When we have 52000 fans at each home game the last thing we should be worried about is clubs in third division."

i hate this short-sighted selfishness. newcastle were getting 15,000 gates at the bottom of the old division 2 before keegan arrived. it's quite conceivable that they could have sunk without trace if they'd gone down that year. but obviously that's pre-history now in these "the world began with sky in 1992" days.
just like sheffield wednesday. i'm sure they must have voted for the premier league, cos they'd be in it and fuck the rest. hasn't worked out too well has it?
how little would be needed as a levy on premier league players' wages to keep the leagues afloat? fuck all.
i've (a little) sympathy for wrexham players on £70k. cos it is a short career, and at that level they're not exacly going to walk into cushy pundit jobs at age 35. when that line's used to justify the millions the top players are on it is a total joke. (oh no, how will a make my millions last? how will i keep my 532 cars and 12 mansions?)
presumably the figures don't add up, cos i can't see how a player will generate that much money for a club if they're only getting a few thousand people each week.
it's hard on wrexham to get the 10 point deduction, but something was needed. the situation leicester had, where they were able to write off all their debts and then get promoted, whilst other clubs struggled with their debts wasn't really fair. |

And if Doncaster had beaten Exeter they'd be playing Man Utd at Old Trafford. _________________ "It's too beautiful to stay inside..." |

And if Barnsley had beaten Northampton and then all the others, they would have won the FA Cup. _________________

is that correct?, normally i hate it when people say 'if they had had a penalty early on we still would have won two one (every man u fan after the arse match) because the match would have been completely different after that event but is that the case here? all the other balls would have come out the same, wrexham wouldn't have been the same number but the ball would have come out at the same time, wouldn't it? my head hurts.
somebody work it out because i thought about it all yesterday as well.
