I heard that the Everton match will be the 200th (league?) match for Sami Hyypiä in the Liverpool shirt, could that be true? He has only missed 5 matches or something during his spell at the mighty
*
Reds, that's quite impressive.
* not as mighty as my favourite Reds (Barnsley)

Tell me about it, John.
What a dismal night. After last Wednesday, Martin - and all you most excellent Reds - I couldn't believe it
No passion... crowd and team. Where did it all go?
Still, I'll be there for the Southampton match. There's my Christmas frigged, then |

i was very angry at the end simply because i could see it coming. we know they can play so there is no excuse. benitez doesn't seem to inspire a great team performance (see houllier). pongolle isn't good enough, all he did was foul unnecessarily, and i think josemi is fucking cack. he started the season well but gives away too many fouls. the only good thing to come out of it is that harry kewell is getting better and more confident every game since he scored. steve gerard is carrying the team at the moment, as he himself seemed to suggest after his goal. great goal tho'. i can't blame him for looking elsewhere. i kicked stuff after, i never do that.

Liverpool will greatly under achieve yet again. I personally don't support them, however, they have cocked up and need that manager seems like he won't do much than maybe win the odd domestic cup. They should have got rid of Houllier long before they actually did, and got a bigger name manager in to build the team, and maybe they would be challenging properly by now. I think Gerrard will go at the end of the season now, probably to Chelsea as that Benitez seems to favour foreign players over our top players. Liverpool need to sort it out and stop being so leniant when their managers don't come up with the goods. I don't think Ranieri would do a bad job for Liverpool. And anyway Pompey were/are on a good run, as I live near Portsmouth I like to see them do well, particularly after all the dramas with Redknapp, they need something to keep their chins up. After all I don't want the trouble they cause when they are shite, drunken depressed Pompey fans, not a pretty sight, especially with the Craphole the city is. |

I blame Graeme Souness for fucking the team up in the first place.
Did anyone see that documentary on Craig Johnston last night? Claiming to be skint despite selling footy boots for £125 a pop. Kiss my arse.

i don't think a big name manager makes a difference. that's kinda typical of the way football fans think now. we need somebody that inspires them, whether that be by putting the fear of god into them or doing a spot of stand up or juggling at half time.

Terry Fenwick's a free agent isn't he?!?!?!
Or maybe Andy Gray as he's such an expert. |

jesus, give the guy a chance! he inherited a squad that was rubbish last season, then lost owen just before the season started. i think 2 spanish titles and a uefa cup at valencia imply that he might be able to do a bit better than the odd domestic cup.
ok, things aren't going well at the moment, but the first season under houllier was awful, before a big improvement the next year when he'd settled in and got his own players in. same with evans. write this season off in terms a any sort of league challenge and build something for next season.

a big name? who do you suggest? ron atkinson?

based on what? which top english players are being overlooked? kirkland, carragher and gerrard have all been first choice. he's given kids like warnock and potter a chance. gerrard probably will leave but to blame that on benitez doesn't make much sense to me. it's not gerrard who keeps getting dropped for diao...

houllier should have gone sooner (and evans and souness, so i suppose that's a fair point), but getting rid of benitez now is no option at all.
sorry, i'm tired. rant over. |

I haven't taken offence at all, honest!! I'm used to the flack from my husband on my views abput the subject.
And anyway I am a Chelsea supporter, in fact all this talk of Liverpool has led me to have to watch that FA Cup game when we beat them 4-2. Only the second half though obviously. Nearly as pleasurable as Chelsea beating Man scum 5-0 a few seasons back, and lest we forget the Champions league victory over Arsenal. Christ I'm starting to cream my pants now at the thoughts of Chelsea finally winning a big prize this season. THEY CAN ACTUALLY DO IT!!!
Actually no we'll probably cock it up. Bugger. |
