my heart bleeds! you're 9 points clear at the top of the league, still in the champions league with a chance of going through despite drawing one of the best teams in europe, in a cup final on sunday, have a bottomless pit of money and one of if not the best manager in europe.
i don't think chelsea will blow the league, but even if they do surely it's only a matter of time before they win/buy everything. i had minimal expectations of this season as it will take benitez time to settle in and build the team he wants. you seem to expect mourinho to do everything in his first year.
here's hoping you're still feeling miserable on sunday! |

There was a Barnsley fan on tele today who was celebrating his 100th birthday - BFC laid on a bash for him 'cos he's been a season ticket holder for 90 !!!!! years! And the side rewarded him (n u tommy boo) with a 4-1 win over Torquay...
We meanwhile made it two 3-0 wins on the trot (first time since August we've won 2 out of 2!!!). Still not sure we're clearly of the drop 'cos last Saturdays hammering was the worst performance i've seen Argyle give in 11 years and we weren't that convinicing against sheff utd on tuesday either. |

Has Gerrard already signed for Chelsea then?

Amazing. I heard of this lad too. He's called Frank Moore and he's probably the only person still alive who saw Barnsley win the FA cup 93 years ago. The chap got a really good reception + the biggest cheer of the day when they wheeled him in front of the home stand.
I wish I'm still around when Barnsley win the Inter-Galactic Football League in season 2080/2081.

| I seem to have been misunderstood here. I in no way ever expected Mourinho to win anything, it's just being a Chelsea fan, it's almost natural we cock things up that's all. I mean, we were winning the league a few seasons back and we lost to those high quality sides Sheffield Wednesday and Leicester City and threw it away. 9 points is a good lead admittedly, and if anyone had said we'd be doing as well as we are at the start of the season I'd have taken it. I just fear the worst as usually that's what happens with Chelsea.I mean after all we've only ever won the league once, we are a long way off utd, liverppol and arsenal. I'm very tense that's all. I bit relieved now obviously after yesterday, in fact very ecstatic!!! However bloody welsh police and trains...rubbish! I nearly got arrested at the station, not impressed!!!! |

My train (from Cardiff to London) was 1 lifetime + 1 hour late, I wasn't too impressed either!
Well, congratulations for Chelsea... I was actually hoping that Liverpool would win but perhaps the better (and richer) team won this time. _________________

Some interesting football results today...
Premier League:
Arsenal 3 - 0 Portsmouth
well, not a surprise really. Henry scored a hat trick.
C.Palace 0 - 0 Man Ure
Kungfu-Cantona's 10th anniversary!
Newcastle 1 - 0 Liverpool
uh oh, not so good. Liverpool can almost say byebye for their Champions League dreams (for next season) now. And they're 8 points behind Everton too.
Norwich 1 - 3 Chelsea
Katieken is happy again.
League One:
Peterborough 1 - 3 Barnsley
Barnsley are now without a manager again (Paul Hart was sacked yesterday, so we've had 6 managers during the last 5 years now) so this was a good result. Two late goals for Barnsley too, that hasn't happened for ages! I listened to the game again as well and sounds like Barnsley played quite well. Who will be the next manager? hmmm...
Hartlepool 4 - 6 Wrexham
10 goals! Come on Wrexham! Juan Ugarte scored 5 goals for Wrexham today, fantastic. How did he end up at Wrexham though, that's quite weird. He signed from Real Sociedad on a free...!
Luton 5 - 0 Bristol City
Luton have been pretty impressive and Bristol City a big disappointment this season. Well, Bristol made a big mistake when they sacked Danny Wilson at the end of last season... he's now saving MK Dons from relegation while Bristol City have fallen into mid-table mediocrity.
In the
Championship
Cardiff beat Sheffield Utd 1-0, and Derby won Plymouth also 1-0. _________________

where do you listen to barnsley games? on the internet? i've had problems listening to liverpool games since i moved to birmingham. we're hardly ever on five live, and the local merseyside stations don't seem to be allowed to broadcast match commentaries on the internet.
i think that guy at wrexham was recommended by xabi alonso, who was a real sociedad before signing for liverpool. should have recommended him to us. i don't think all our strikers combined have scored 5 goals all season.
maybe a slight exaggeration...

I've listened to every Barnsley game this season on 'Barnsley World'... It costs about £30 a year and you get the live commentary for every match and video highlights too. It's pretty good and definitely worth it if you can't listen or watch the games. I don't pay anything at all for it though because I get the commentary link from a friend of mine every week. Perhaps Liverpool have something similar...? _________________

you can buy something called an e-season ticket from the official liverpool site, which gives commentaries. it didn't seem to offer anything, and lfc get enough money off me anyway, before i moved here, but i suppose it might be an option...
having said that, i hate listening to games on the radio and i go to quite a lot of the games, so it probably isn't worth it. |
