Ok Im still distracted, apparently the LA's have reformed, in my personal opinion they had the potential to be the greatest scouse band of all time, which would put them up there in the echelons, I really hope they do something amazing and record an album which surprises Lee Mavers cause its so good and he didnt think he had it in him. Has anyone got tickets or heard any news of what the situation is, is it liable to be awesome or a little bit depressing.
It'd be good if the bassist responsible for Cast redeemed himself. |

I've heard this too.
I'd love it to be true. The La's were fucking ace and their album is just beautiful, which the bastardisations of 'There She Goes' cannot diminish.
I saw them play in Huddersfield about late 88 or early 89 and all i can remember is that they didn't look old enough to be allowed in te venue... _________________ Be sad, be happy and be wise |

Thats awesome, the LA’s are a band I really wished i could have seen live. If I had a time machine Id go back and see:
Janes Addiction circa 1990
My Bloody Valentine 1989
Sly and Family Stone 1969
Mercury Rev any time when they were nuts
Buffalo Springfield when they played with Love in LA
Jimmi Hendrix in Soho somewhere
actually this is a ridiculous list it could go on forever and Dr Who is obviously on my mind.
One last one Funkadelic opened for the Stooges in Detroit quite often, so im told, that would be pretty fucking ace. |

I saw At The Drive In, its the only time I've ever bought a ticket off a tout cos I really wanted to see them. They were very good the only problem was that they kept on stopping songs half way through to tell people in the audience to stop dancing in an aggressive manner. The first time they did it I thought it was a cool thing to do but after the 6th or 7th time it was annoying. |

I had a ticket to see them, but they split up before the gig happened... Not that we were told they'd split up, oh no, everytime we tried to get our dosh back they said the gig would be 'rescheduled soon...' _________________ Scattershot Writing: www.jameseverington.blogspot.com |

I'm not sure what you mean by that. I love Cast - think the off-beat guitar work in some of the songs is excellent, and of course the guitar in Walkaway is supreme.
Am I in a minority here then? |

I remember liking one Cast song. I can't remember what it was though so obviously not that memorable.
And I fucking hated Sandstorm.
and Walkaway for that matter too. _________________ "fashioned by the blade of a world that doesn't care,

they did a really strange single off their last album which was different to all the rest of their stuff and was quite good. but I thought most of their songs were meat and potatoes nonsense. even during the mid nineties when I was buying any album by anyone with a guitar and a Britsh passport I couldn't get into them. They were Oasis but without the tunes or charisma. a bit like Oasis today. |
