The album has been renamed 'Straight Outta Newport' for its US release. |

*raises hand*
dude, i get it.
plus, cities like chicago have always had their fair share of brit music obsessives (which is why you generally always used to see the same people at the same gigs... at least that's the way it used to be in the windy city, but i've been away for awhile)... anyways, yanks love their comedy rap... i reckon it'll go down a treat.
where are they playing in chicago?

oh yeah... and one more thing. avoid going to see "hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy". it's awful. in fact, it's really really truly terrible. you just won't believe how mind-boggling & jaw-droppingly shite it is... you may have thought the last star wars was bollocks, but that's just peanuts compared to this.

A friend of mine who loves the books said that it's absolutely brilliant. I've read them all (have you, by the way?) twice so I'm definitely going to see it too at some point.
The last Star Wars wasn't that shite really, at least it was a masterpiece compared to the Episode 1. I think people just expect too much and then they're disappointed. In fact I saw the Episode 1 on telly a couple of weeks ago. I watched it and decided not to think how shite it is compared to the old three movies, and guess what... I actually enjoyed (most of) it.

I've always been a big Hitchhikers fan, books, radio show, TV version and all that... and I thought the film was "OK". Not brilliant, but I don't really know how they could've done a better job of a movie version. I think it's just a story that's better suited to book and radio than film maybe.

yes, i have actually read the books. that's pretty much my problem. i think the film missed out on a lot of elements that made me love the story so much in the first place. it's pretty good looking visually... they just really missed the boat on the screenplay. i will say, however, that the guy who plays zaphod is great.

Interesting. My mate said that Zaphod is the most annoying thing in the movie. Hmmm.
A lot of fanboys and fangirls will be disappointed, but Hitchhiker's Guide was such a challenging project... of course the film won't be as good as the books, that would be nearly impossible, but if they've kept most of my favourite parts in the book then I think I'll be happy enough. _________________

I quite liked the old BBC tv series too actually, did you ever see it?
Oh, and read Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency (also by Douglas Adams) if you already haven't - it's amazing.

I agree. The old Marvin was ace and looks much cooler.
And I was just going to mention the "your plastic pal who's fun to be with" thing too! The advertisement in the tv series was my favourite part in it, made me laugh so hard.
It's a shame that Douglas Adams himself couldn't finish this film project, it probably would have been much better. Apparently he was working on a new book too. _________________

yes, i believe they cut that line from the film... just as they did with pretty much every great line. they also americanized some of the language which was a bit of a shame...
oh well... hooray for hollywood.
