I second "Separations". Unfortunately, I lost my copy when I separated. "Love is Blind" is huge & hilarious. Worth getting your mits on "The gift singles" or whatever it was called - it includes "Sheffield; Sex City."
The Blue Aeroplanes got a mention on the 100 greatest British Albums thread so I would also put a word in for "Friendloverplane" (the first one).
Also "Goodnight Irony" by the Folk Devils (if you can find it).

I actually owned Electric Warrior on vinyl and left it in the garage over the winter where we would play our music and was gutted to find in was ruined by mould. The sleeve was all stuck to the vinyl it was just horrid. Maybe I should re-invest in this on cd now. Great choice Tommy boo. _________________ http://www.myspace.com/addolorata |

i'm feeling this one too just now.
there are a couple of tracks made using magic instead of instruments - 'the yeah yeah yeah song' and 'haven't got a clue'. actually 'free radicals' and 'the w.a.n.d.' are a bit special too.
had no problems keeping the pants on whilst listening to it though. |

Violent Femmes was a real surprise in (drawl) '85. I think. I had a mate who was mostly into er... fairly ordinary goths really (or maybe I wasn't really listening) but he tried to get me intrested in "Hallowed Ground" + I didn't get that. Then he played the first album. Hmmm. I've placed it top three in the past.
From the same era: "New Day Rising" Husker Du (sorry no umlauts). "How to skin a cat" is the funniest politcal song.
