so, I was looking on MySpace, and, via bravecaptain's one, ended up on the page that belongs to someone called Darragh (the name might be familiar), and saw this in one of his 'blog entries:
"...a yorkie, the regular variety in the blue wrapper which has a little picture of a girl being crossed out and the tag line: Yorkie- Its not for girls. Why is it not for girls? I thought girls loved chocolate: the more the better and yorkie postively throbs with the stuff. Does it reduce their fertility? Does it give them breast cancer? I don't get it and my next project will be to write to yorkie to find out why their bar is not for girls."
It's the best blog by far, and sums up pretty much my own exact thoughts over the weekend.
Thanks for saying it much better than I ever could Darragh xxx |

I never knew yous were related, never mind twins!
are you a Ham Sandwich (the band) fan? haven't seen that many gratuitous thank yous on a CD since... well, Learning To Walk!
there's something similar to the Yorkie thing in the advertising for McDonald's at the moment... Something saying [whatever] is not a "big girl's blouse." I'd hope to not find myself eating a blouse when I was biting into my burger. Then again, I wouldn't be eating a burger, let alone one from McDonald's.

The lead singer of Ham Sandwich is Podge who used to appear hear many moons ago! He's kind of............well........disturbed. Two of Ham Sandwich, Podge and John are childhood friends, but we like their music too, they're a breath of fresh air in the face of the ever so serious wankers that make up the dublin music scene. _________________ www.myspace.com/storkboychoons

thought I saw them live once, and the lead singer was a girl
of course, you'd be the expert here!
and you can't say "ever so serious wankers" without naming names |

They do a sort of a Kim Deal/Black Frank girlboy vocal these days. Niamh is the other lead singer. Hmmm..ever so serious wankers in the dublin music scene, I'd need a long long list if I were even to start But I won't be so petty ha ha ha. You going electric picnic?? _________________ www.myspace.com/storkboychoons

Not going to Electric Picnic, as of yet. Never been and as I've been to Witnness/Oxegen the last four years, I've not had the desire to attend another similar event for a very long time after! Does it tend to sell out fast? Not going to Oxegen this year unless the line-up seriously improves.
I'm pretty sure I saw Ham Sandwich supporting The Mighty Stef. I just wanted to see if you'd list any of the Dublin bands I like |

Dublin seems to be a real trap for bands. Who was the last band to really break out? The thrills? It's kind of brutal but I don't think any of the current crop are gonna make it either..humanzi, channel 1, ham sandwich et al. _________________ www.myspace.com/storkboychoons
