Can't believe I forgot to give "Wowee Zowee" an honorable mention. Probably "Guerilla" and "Waterpistol" too.
The only reason the Boo's don't get on my main list is that a "great album" should have, I dunno, a certain stamp: something that makes you think "blimey, how did they do that/think of that?"
I love the Boo's because they were prolific and consistant and quality. They just didn't happen to put together an absolute killer sequence at any one time (IMHO)
Came close tho

You're so completely wrong.
Go and sit in the corner and think about what you have just done.

This is too hard.
All I know is I'd have to have;
The White Album
C'mon Kids
A Northern Soul
Like A Prayer
Achtung Baby
Mind you I'd have to think again as maybe P J Harvey's Rid of Me could be an option or To Bring You My Love. Additionally, Forever Changes maybe or Long Gone Before Daylight by The Cardigans as it is wonderful. Shit, then there's ums and ahs as Surfer Rosa could well in there, or REM's Green.
Bollocks, it depends what mood I'm in, and believe me my moods change like the wind. |

I thought I'd get that response. Of course it's all subjective but, if you actually try to put together a list (of only five) that you might think is valid for a decade rather than a month, I think you have to make that kind of judgment.
No slight to the Boos or any other artist I love who don't happen to be on my list. I love them for different reasons. It's like comparing Everest, K2 & the rest with the whole of the Tibetan plateau.

I wrote that! Me! Using my stubby little fingers! Ages ago!
I don't reckon i've listened to 'Let It Come Down" since I wrote that post so I no longer think its the 5th best album ever.
I'm in a period of flux and no longer know what the best album ever is. |

You know I very rarely listen to a full album these days of itunes, so recently I made a concious decision to forego playlists and listen to the odd album in its entirety, Van Morrison Astral Weeks and Blonde on Blonde have since bewitched me..
The playlist is dead

It's hard to find the time to listen to a full album, I'm alright at the moment cos I'm doing a long commute everyday. However I'd have to be commuting to Sydney to find time for all of "Wu Tang Forever".
Did anyone read the article in one of the papers yesterday about that artist's who's last project was called 24 Hour Psycho and involved slowing down Alfred Hitchcocks film so it lasted a full 24 hours? It's a dedicated film/art fan who sits through all of that. |

In the galway arts festival last year they did 6 of JM Synge's plays in a row, with the same actors, and the thing was that you had to watch all of them if you bought a ticket. Some people said it was good, but I'm sure they were lying, you couldn't maintain interest for taht length of time..How's sydney, I was in melbourne all last year, I used to listen to aussie stuff like nick cave and the hunters and collectors on my ipod while I was commuting in oz..love it _________________ www.myspace.com/storkboychoons

I'm not in Australia anymore it was just a ropey example of a ridiculous commute. I did live in Sydney for a year though, I miss the second hand record shops over there, they were ace. And the sunshine. That was nice too. |
