Left - Hope of The States.
I'd forgotten how much I loved them until I went to see them on Saturday. Best gig I've ever seen at The Leadmill in my 12 years of going there, even though the crowd seemed a bit arsed.
Left is the title track of the new album is a massive massive achingly beautiful epic.
Love them, love it. and the rest of the album too.

But for the fact they had sold out when I went to get one, I almost bought a "Band" T-sirt for the first time in around ten years from them. Had the hand-written lyrics to Blood Meridian on it and was veeery nice.
"Emergency! Emergency! Someone acted honestly! You should string em up, tie em down, never let the news get out and never let it happen again!"

She's a bit like The Streets - they were both excellent when they wasn't famous.
My T.o.t.D. so far is Belle & Sebastian - The Blues Are Still Blue. But that will probably change again when I'm more awake. _________________ "It's too beautiful to stay inside..." |

I saw B&S (finally) at that Wireless Hyde park festival thing on Wednesday, they were good. I was also quite suprised at how much I enjoyed The Strokes, I assumed they'd be arrogant and annoying and trashy noise, but they were none of those things, they were fun and entertaining and skilled. So yeah - a pleasant suprise!

The line up for The Strokes concert was ace wasn't it, weren't Gogol Bordello playing? I saw them in Manchester a couple of months ago, for the last song the lead singer crowd surfed across the audience on top of drum. Every show should end like that. |

Hometown Unicorn by SFA, still lovely after all these years and a surprisingly good soundtrack to being on a treadmill at the gym.
