loved John Spencer in the West Wing, if only there really were politicians like that! (I presume Chief of Staff is considered a political job!) - we get the druggy/boozy past without the integrity and character!
it's so sad to think of Syd Barrett, the waste of so much of his life. when I read about him previously I thought just maybe he'll be like Brian Wilson and perhaps come out of hiding sometime. damn shame. _________________ (and gillworm! she's so funny!) |

Tony Ogden - World of Twist.
great band.
Arthur Lee.
Forever Changes is one of my favourite records.
I bought him five vodka oranges once.

I'm devestated. I only got into Love through this messageboard, sometime in 2002 I believe. I saw them play at Glastonbury and at The Leadmill and both performances were special.
Like Martin, Forever Changes is one of my favourite ever albums. I can't really think of anything else to say right now.
RIP Arthur.

the Storm & Sons of the Stage are regulars in my, err, record box.
That's a shame.
I hope St. Peter forgives Tony his version of She's a Rainbow... too twinkly for my liking; but World of Twist were very under-rated.
As far as Arthur Lee is concerned, he left a mostly great musical legacy, and he kept it up [almost] until the end. I'll be happy with the worms if I can say the same [re: keeping it up until the end; too late now, I fear, for my 'musical legacy'].
There will - no doubt - be a bunch of frothed-up showers of Arctic Monkey spittle giving me grief at work tonight when I pay tribute to Arthur Lee... "What's this shite... play something good, like the Fratellis...?" _________________ The Musical Mystery Tour,

Steve Irwin was killed by an animal. The man who never seemed to fear anything. Shocking.

To be fair that was always going to be a question of when rather than if.
At least he wont be dangling his kid in front of Aligators anymore.

Steve Irwin's death was the main story on the BBC news this morning, I didn't realise he was that well known. Did anyone watch that programme about whether the US and Britain should hold talks with Al Queda on BBC2 last night? I watched 15 minutes and then turned over to watch the Father Ted episode about the traumatised sheep. |
