So, Martin Carr the solo artist is dead, replaced with Martin Carr the solo artist?
Genius!

What's the rationale behind dropping the bravecaptain name? Just wondering. |

just wondering what sort of direction it's gonna take as bravecaptain explored many music genres. maybe it's black metal!
maybe it just means he wont have to bother doing requests for all those bravecaptain songs live we all shout for! |

Maybe it's because record companies have heard of Martin Carr, but not bravecaptain?
Anyway, let me be the first to get this in:
"i don't like the name martin carr. if i had a name like jimmy angeldust or frankie voltage then i would have used my own name, but martin carr is, y'know, crap."

Surely it’s a new beginning, a fresh start, a reinvention - like Bowie killing off Ziggy Stardust, Puff Daddy becoming P Diddy or PJ and Duncan becoming Ant and Dec. |

I have to say, of all the possible incarnations i had imagined for Martin after bravecaptain, becoming an Estate Agent in Dartford has to be his boldest step yet. Does that mean we are going to see a move towards 'House' music? |

Seems like this is an exciting time to be a bc/mc fan. Have we any idea what to expect? Acoustic versions of Boo Radleys classics? A full-band version of Rod's Got One? Techno-chocolate?
Whatever happens, I'm excited. _________________ "It's too beautiful to stay inside..." |

From Akira the Don's website - in particular the Bio page for each member of his "Donsquad":
Bravecaptain AKA Martin Carr. Plays keyboards in The Women (Spring 06 onwards). Makes lush sounds as Bravecapatin, produces huge pop music for people like me and OddKidd, used to write The Boo Radleys' songs. Has a massive heed. Sad when sober, happy when dunk. A bad influence on Jeres.
Erm... The Women? _________________ "It's too beautiful to stay inside..." |
