I dunno, I think they had some good songs alright, and they were definitely influential

How many more questions will be asked in this thread?

By using a complicated formula where x=number of posters on the board, t=length of time between question and answer, z=interest factor, bc=the likelihood of mr carr posting on here again, adding loads of brackets, the odd logarithim and some random squiggles my calculator says 1.234567890 Error

Pasty or Pie?

Who else thinks that Bwyd Time was Gorkys best ever album?

Yes. Has it got Patio Song on? Thats the only Gorkys song i know. If it has then it is.

If Gordon Brown outlaws the stand-by setting on my telly then I'm leaving the country. Not a question, merely a statement.

Why do you still come to this board?

Ha ha, good question, it's a bit of a tame board these days. Not much going on. Habit maybe? It's actually the only message board I go to unless you count myspace as a board. I have a soft spot for it too. and interesting things do pop up here every now and then. i used to start threads a lot as well, but not so much anymore.

do you think martin carr will release any music this year?

Thats a tough one. Would be good to hear from Martin with his plans though. Its like he's vanished.

Is anybody else enjoying Midlakes fantastic "The trials of Van Occupanther"??

Maybe he's already doing stuff under a pseudonymn? Yes, the Midlake album is very good - a bit like Grandaddy, no?

Given Pete Doherty has this week got passed the age where Kurt, Jimi etc. died: "is it better to burn out or fade away?" (Happy birthday Pete)

No it's better to fade away I reckon. All dead rockstar mythologising is bullshit that cheapens human life. Kurt Cobain will not be remembered like a Van Gogh or a Da Vinci in a hundred years. Pete Doherty on the other hand has achieved so little that his burning out would be hardly distinguishable from a soggy match at any rate.

Its not the first thing I notice.....!

However my wife is addicted to buying boots.

She counters this by saying I am addicted to buying records. But you can't play and listen to Boots can you?

Where is your life heading right now? To a fantastic destination or stuck in the sidings?

How about we compromise and agree on 9.5"?

When you're sad do you want to listen to sad records or happy ones?

Sad songs. I find when your sad its good to listen to songs that empathise with your depression.

What Is the greatest sad song ever. (Apart from Broken Heart by Spiritualized, as that is obviously the best)

state of play. (although i went to cheltenham yesterday and had no winners, so you might want to ignore this!)

i'm trying contact lenses for the first time. how long does it take before you can put them at the first attempt? it's taking me 3 or 4 goes per eye at the moment, with no obvious signs of improvement.
