Interesting track selection. missing the singles like ride the tiger, free huey and wishing i was skinny, yet album tracks like spun around, 4am conversation, and get on the bus are on it? And yeah, nothing from kingsize or everything's alright forever _________________ www.myspace.com/storkboychoons

Eaf wasn't anything to do with sony and i can only guess that they have forgotten about Kingsize.
I won't be buying it.

Is it remastered, with a glorious 128 glossy book, new sleeve notes and a disc of extras that don't exist? _________________ we spent a lot of time trying to make our guitars sound like trumpets...then someone told us we could actually use real trumpets |

HA! I've just noticed Spun Around's on it. That should terrify the casual "Wake Up Boo" buyer!! _________________ we spent a lot of time trying to make our guitars sound like trumpets...then someone told us we could actually use real trumpets |

15 songs is ridiculous...
but I quite liked that selection.
These two opinions may be indirectly related.
They are also related to my liking for EAF & Kingsize.

I just got it from Amazon today; I thought it was worth £3.57 and it got me free postage on some Ulrich Schnauss...
It's nicely done - it flows really well, it's not butchered by being obviously remastered to slam everything up to digital zero so it stil jiggers you around a bit as it should. The tracklisting's a bit odd, aye, but at least it's not a really obvious chronological singles job that any monkey could have put together.
Brief-ish sleevenotes by Michael Heatley, who I looked-up and has written loads of music biogs and football books about Fulham and stuff. I looked him up cos he actually quoted me in there - '[Lazarus] in one critics's words, combined "a big pop tune halfway between Dinosaur Jr and the Beach boys [with] a great big dub instrumental"' is lifted from a review I did of Find The Way Out @ Stylus.
His notes actually mention Kingsize ('dance-oriented', wtf?! is a tiny bit of drum'n'bass and some synth enough to mean 'dance oriented'??!!) so it's a shame it wasn't represented...
So, yeah... oddness. But nice. If 10p filters back to you somehow, Martin, then that's lovely, and if not, it's only cost me about £2.50 in real terms and has saved me burning my own CDR comp together... |
