i played "jimmy webb is god" to an english friend of mine yesterday. he said that he liked the song a lot but he also thought that the lyrics are really funny. i asked why, the lyrics aren't that funny really.
"well, i'm not fit to even chew your guitar is a funny piece of lyrics, don't you think so?" my friend answered.
he was a bit embarrassed when i told him that no one's actually chewing a guitar in the song. Rolling Eyes

"I'm not fit to even tune your guitar" is pretty funny too I think...

That reminds me of a mate of mine who said
that he didn't really like The Smiths very much but the one song
he did like was the one about Hank The DJ...

in the early to mid 80s there was a band called the Redskins, their singer/guitarist Chris Dean had a guitar that used to belong to Joe Strummer, complete with the teethmarks from where Strummer had bitten it onstage...so you shouldn't be too embarrassed at your misheard lyrics, guitar chewing is an old and respected activity!

i told my friend at work that he should buy "advertisements for myself" - he liked it too when i played it. the next day he had gone to a record shop (here in finland) and asked if they have any "brain captain" records... Shocked
okay, i have to admit, "brain captain" sounds pretty much like "brave captain"... but it's still quite funny, i think Very Happy

well, in the Finest Kiss, for a while all I could hear was:

"have you seen her? the finest kiss is mine. have you seen her? heavy metal time"

no lyric sheet with that one......
