"...ladies it ain't easy being independent" - "Independent Women" by Destiny's Child
What I don't get...why would it be difficult being independent? Making your own decisions and all...hell, beats being a 50s housewife I think.

"...you're so vain, you probably think this song is about you..." - "You're So Vain" by Carly Simon
But it IS about him, albeit his vanity...doesn't make any sense.

Add your own.
Love and Peace

Grumble, does that mean "Eric is like America" or something like that???

Bev, I was thinking about that one myself but decided against it as I thought I don't know all the lyrics to it and maybe it is explained in the verses. Either way, Meatloaf is really insane.

"He knows everything about nothing,
and not to much about that,
so if you know someone who knows what he knows
then you must know HENRY'S CAT!"

Ace.

Oh, & i am proud to say that i don't know the verses to Meatloaf either!

Where'd you park the car?
Where'd you park the car?

Maybe one of the radiohead contingent could explain the profundity there?

cut the kids in half
cut the kids in half

and now on the new album

something about

got the flan in the face
the flan in the face

the lyrics

where'd you park the car
where'd you park the car

sung in the manner they are on morning bell excellently convey a sense of disorientated panic. But taken out of context like that they are of course kind of meaningless

Morning Bell is about a ghost in Thom's house, but I can't remember the details.

"Sk8er Boi"...geees I hate that spelling, anyway:

'...he was a punk, she did ballet...//
he was a sk8er boi, she said see you later boy...'

Besides being totally dumb these lyrics show how out of touch Avril and her posse are...being a punk and a skater are totally different things...how nonsensical.

I don't know if this was in the 80s or something, I don't know the name of the band or the song but they sing:

'I don't wanna steal my best friend's baby, but she's drop dead beautiful...'
Is that romance?!
