Robert Forster :

always prefererred Grant McClennans (r.i.p Sad ) solo albums - they were sometimes erratic but they normally had a greater share of songs i loved than Forsters. However the evangelist is the first forster solo album that i'd recommend, helped i s'pose by the fact he's done GM's last couple of songs, but its a surprising gem, not up there with the GB's but i agree its one of the years better albums. Really would like to have seen his lancaster library gig a couple of months ago but just couldn't get time off.

There a round up of loads of best of the year polls here:

http://www.metacritic.com/music/bests/2008.shtml

The Amazon people are wrong, that Kings of Leon album is massively disappointing.

We'd better get on with 2009 now I suppose.

Before I forget about this one again, I'm tipping New Education to be a band to look out for in '09. Their recent single 'Today' sounds to me like what would have happened if Noel Gallagher had written 'When I Argue I See Shapes'.

i've no clue why 'skeleton boy' has been put out as a single yet, it's exactly what pop music should sound like in 2008 if you ask me.

haven't decided what pop music should be sounding like in 2009 yet, but it's still a decent tune!

Anyone going to the NME Awards tour in Mancs 7th February?

Also, can't believe I forgot to mention Justice - Across The Universe. Fantastic live album.
