A link with three amusing elements:
1) the title of Graham Linehan's website
2) the drawing of him at the top of the page
3) John McCain being a lovable old right wing buffoon

The Russell Brand story is the main item on Newsnight. I find that much more offensive than Brand annoying Manuel.

the brand/ross thing is incredible. it was incredibly crap "humour" and both, well Brand, can be funnier. but its just people who don't like either thinking fuck yeah lets put the boot in on 'em, it isn't 'cos they are offended (well some are but i'd say offence was the minority reason).

fleet foxes were ace to/last/night - good us election banter. i don't believe the world will be any better with obama in charge but he's the less offensive of the 2 so i 'ope he wins.

Fleet Foxes were beautiful last night and very funny which I hadn't expected. I saw them In Brighton earlier this year and they hardly said a word (although they were talking about Bath even then). We took our boy, Sonny Fleetfox and they signed his wee vest.

Halfway Home by TV On The Radio. At first I didn't get what all the fuss was about but slowly it's won me over. The band should be very proud.

Great track! And I reckon 'Intimacy' is a strong contender for Album of the Year when that thread eventually comes around again. Wink

Bought the deluxe edition of '1977' by Ash today so TotD for me is 'Everywhere Is All Around' (due to writing credits listed as Wheeler/Carr).

It's my own cheating heart that makes me cry - Glasvegas

Okay, "What's the story morning glory, I feel so low and worthless - YEAH!" still makes me cringe something cruel, but they are finally starting to win me around.

I'm now working on Sundays and there's no Today programme on Radio 4 in the morning, just lots of God, so I turned the radio off and listened to In Rainbows instead...tune of the morning was House of Cards, which refuses to let me stand still while it's playing!

I've never found it easy to dance to the Today programme. Partly because I'm not awake enough but mainly because it got no riddim.

I have recently decided to load all the music n my PC into Winamp and put it on shuffle. This is one of the best things I ever did and I can now see the point of an Ipod. Why I never did it before I'll never know.

One of the advantages of this is that I've heard stuff I never even knew I'd downloaded, the best of which was Elbow covering Massive Attack's Teardrop. This is closely followed by a 10 minute live version of The Cure's Faith. I also seem to have about a gigabytes worth of Sandy Denny stuff which is also rather fine in a folky sort of way.
