what, no match report from Tommy? maybe the excitement was too much

and Sparky vs Kinkster in the play-offs, eh?

I'm up for Reading, sorry.

first time all season I'd looked at the latest scores from the Championship, even if it changed about a bit at the top. Nothing compared to the Bundesliga this season, mind... it's like they're giving everyone a turn to lead the league for a week over there. Madness.

also, shame about Sami's leaving of Liverpool... but, for Tommy, you can carry on pretending to care about the club, because there's another Finn there now:

Last night I was meant to be going to see Ghostface Killah at the Scala but I got out of work late, couldn't be bothered and so I went to the pub to watch Didier Drogba and Michael Ballack getting sweary and angry instead (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VkhQZNHcxmE). Judging by this review of the gig I made a wise choice (http://blogbitch.blogspot.com/2009/05/hows-your-popliteus.html).

What have we learnt from this:

Sweary footballers > Sweary rappers

The excitement was almost too much indeed, but I'm still here!
I didn't find a way to watch the game so I only listened to it, otherwise I could have written that match report... Razz

I was already entering the panic mode when Plymouth scored the first goal, as a win for Norwich against Charlton would have meant that Barnsley are going down, but fortunately Norwich were terrible - they were already losing 3-0 after half an hour, so I didn't have to panic anymore.

Barnsley scored an equaliser against Plymouth and then one more on the second half, and won the game, which was a nice ending for a pretty crap season. Can't say that I'm really looking forward to the next season either, I'm afraid it's just going to be another relegation battle.

It'll be strange to see Norwich, Charlton and Southampton in League One next season... they've all played in Premier League this decade after all. It's going to be tough for them financially, but I hope they'll all survive. Apparently things are looking pretty bad for Southampton though.

Yeh, it's a shame indeed, he's leaving just before his 10th anniversary in Liverpool too! I think Sami will still have two more seasons at the top level in him, I hope and believe that he'll do well in Leverkusen.
I hope that Dalla Valle will come good as well, I don't know how good he really is though and what the British media says about him. I remember a lot of people raving about Daniel Sjölund a few years ago, but he never broke into the first team and he plays somewhere in Sweden now.

Championship play-off first legs:

Preston 1 - 1 Sheff Utd

Burnley 1 - 0 Reading

I think I'll be a Preston fan for the rest of the season, but just as long as the Blades won't win, I'll be happy enough!

can't say I was aware of Dalla Valle before seeing that piece on him, but at least it wasn't written by anyone connected to Liverpool. I'd have thought Sami would be there long enough to qualify for a testimonial. He deserves one anyway.

I don't mind Sheffield United, now that the uber-obnoxious Warnock is no longer the manager, and is back in the lower leagues where he belongs. Then again, Sean Bean is still a fan.

So a friends house with a beer come Bank Holiday Monday Very Happy

haha Razz Actually, I kind of liked them (= did not dislike or hate them) until this season. But their annoying manager, their hypocritical chairman, and captain Chris "The Skull Crusher" Morgan*, and the way how the Blades handled the Iain Hume and the Tevez sagas** really disgusts me. The spineless twats at the FA are just as bad though.

I hope that Burnley will beat the Blades in the final, but I don't think they will.

* I once played football with him (true story) - I think I should be glad that my head is still in one piece!

** which they of course still mention in every fucking interview, as if they now deserve to be back in the Premier league just because they were treated "wrongly".

So yeah, I don't really like them that much. Razz Kris is a cool dude though, even if he's obsessed with superlatives and doesn't support the right Yorkshire team. Laughing

You'll have to explain that Tevez comment, their handling of it pissed you off how?
