goldfrapp... hmmm... i think i heard one of their songs yesterday. i remember it was pretty good indeed... a woman with a nice & soft voice singing... am i totally lost?
i've heard of ooberman before but that's all i'm afraid... i'll try to find some of their stuff though. thanks
i'm definitely going to buy the new blur album anyway, they are a great band and they make great music... it's a shame that graham coxon left though, he was cool.

It's a bit late so if you've got any cash left...
Go-Betweens - Bright Yellow, Bright Orange
Stephen Malkmus (another music god)- Pig Lib
Spiritualized - Complete Works Vol. 1 (especially if you ain't got any of the early stuff and then again great even if you have)
And I can vouch for My Morning Jacket - At Dawn, it's ace

ah... i always knew that the local record stores here are crap, but i didn't know that they are really crap! Confused i found the goldfrapp album but decided not to buy it because it was so expensive and i bought the new blur album instead. i didn't find any other cd's you suggested...
i also bought some other good music, i'll make a list when i come back home again. Rolling Eyes

okay, here's list of the CDs I bought today!

Blur - Think Tank : sounds already pretty good
Hanoi Rocks - Self Destruction Blues : this one's a real classic! Rolling Eyes

The Story Of The Kinks : The Kinks are ace!
The Greatest Hits Of Frankie Goes To Hollywood : this one was cheap so I decided to buy it...
Rancid - Bloodclot : I know a couple of songs of this band before... some decent stuff really.
Catatonia - Stone By Stone DVD single : should be good
Manic Street Preachers - So Why So Sad single : a good song
Crowded House - Woodface : oh well, it was pretty cheap as well Very Happy

I also bought two cassettes (I still don't have a CD player in my car) - some Public Enemy and The Bluetones album.
Most of the CDs I buy are second-hand stuff, that explains why I bought so many CDs... Rolling Eyes Only the new Blur album was brand new - when I came back home I noticed that the album is copy-protected. That annoyed me a lot, because I've promised to myself that I will never buy any copy-protected stuff. The CDs are already far too expensive, and now I can't put those songs on my own music compilations... I never copy any albums to myself, but this really is annoying!

copy protection is a joke, don't worry about it. these things are usually cracked very shortly after they come out. they had come out with one a few years back to stop the bootlegging mainly of hip hop albums, and someone figured out you just had to trace the outside of the cd with a black permanent marker (don't try this, I don't know the details...).

Don't know how this new system works though, I've seen it on some CD's.... of course there's nothing stopping you from getting a CD player with an optical out, plugging it into your optical in on your computer, and just recording at 1X speed. in fact, you could probably try this with the headphone out on the discman and microphone in on your computer.

notice how its always the acts with loads of cash who are bitching about copy protection. Personally, I have no sympathy for Madonna, or Metallica, or Blur for that matter.
