My first Boo Radleys album was Wake Up, my brother gave it to me back in 1995... maybe he didn't like it or something, I don't know. Anyway, I loved it from the very beginning and then bought C'mon Kids the year after, and then Kingsize a bit after when it was released.
However, it took me much longer to find the others... I accidentally found Giant Steps in a little Finnish record store two years ago. I bought Ichabod & I on eBay last year, it's pretty good actually... I finally got Learning To Walk (thanks John... I haven't forgotten! I'm just a bit slow) and Everything's Alright Forever earlier this year, I've been listening to them quite a lot! Looks like I've missed pretty much... Shocked

Even though the first Boo song I ever heard was "Leaves And Sand" off Giant Steps, the first album I bought was Wake Up!, then Giant Steps, C'mon Kids, Everything's Alright Forever, Kingsize, Learning To Walk, Ichabod And I.

Giant Steps after hearing one song Smile Then Wake Up C'Mon Kids Kingsize then all the b-sides plus Ichabod and Learning to walk I had copied (I own a shitload of b-sides and sorry but have no intention of buying those two albums!)

Then finally Everything Alright Forever about 2 years ago.

I'm sure I've already said this, but while loving the Boo's enough to buy Wake Up on Day one - it wasn't until C'Mon Kids that I truly fell hook line and sinker for all things Martin Carr Surprised

i wasnt there first, but as i am a bit of an old git i heard a clip of "the finest kiss" on the chart show. it was number 9 in the indie charts and had a blurry sort of video to it. as i was a bit of a shoegazer at the time anything with a fuzzy guitar was usually purchased. i went to hmv bought the cd single thought it was good if unexceptional. good enough to buy boo up ep which was fantastic...then lazy day then everythings alright... when it came out (on them monday!) knew by this record was dealing with genius...still think it is one of the finest ever made....couldnt wait for giant steps and will post thoughts on specific link...however a mate who i have long since lost contact with heard them on peel and bought ichabod the saturday after itcame out! xxxx

friend of mine at school did me a tape with ichabod on, along with what i think was the first peel session (with alone again or on it) and an interview with martin. wish i knew where it was. finest kiss was the anthem of the day.

then got back from greece in sep 93 and saw the boos live at the la2, went out the next day and bought giant steps so that technically was me first purchase.

remember reading an interview with jason pierce who said his ideal tour would be with the boos and stereolab. why did that never happen? why?

Everything's Alright Forever, after hearing "Lazy Days" on a free cassette given away by Select music magazine.

I still get a tingle down my spine when I hear the album now.

I discover Boo in a Indie Top 20 compilation, it was
Barney & Me... Go to my favorite records store, i find immdiately
Giant Steps with the Inrockuptibles (french zine) mention 'Best 1993 LP'...
I don't how to say that in english, but 'J'ai pris une putain de claque, tellement c'était bon !!' Very Happy

It was the beginning of a great adventure !

i've got this Britpopophile friend who played me some of c'mon kids about 2 years ago (yup, its still all shiny new to me, so go right ahead and be jealous.) two weeks later i was still thinking about the album and set out to get a copy. then i ran around from shop to shop like a crack addict trying to find my next fix of Boos. Ichabod still escapes me. one of these days i will have a copy, and fix up my record player, and carefully transfer it to CD. and then i will have pretty much achieved everything in life.
