You have to go back to the Boo Forever EP for your first Richard Brautigan connection in the music of the Brave Captain :-
Boo Forever by Richard Brautigan
Spinning like a ghost
On the bottom of a top
I'm Haunted by all
The Space that I
Will Live Without
Apologies for any typos, i've just done that from memory. |

Not bad...you just missed the last word!!
Boo, Forever
Spinning like a ghost
on the bottom of a
top,
I'm haunted by all
the space that I
will live without
you.
(originally from his 1968 poetry collection
The Pill versus The Springhill Mine Disaster
- if anyone is interested it has been reprinted, you can get a copy fairly easily on ebay...check out http://www.brautigan.net/brautigan/chronology.html for a massive resource on brautigan related stuff...oh, it might be worth Mr Captain contacting them to put a reference to the new EP!?!)
Mr Captain mentions an earlier Brautigan non-influence in the influences section of this site. But one of the reasons I wondered if Mr Captain has a copy of 'All watched over...' is that the original was only produced in an edition of 1500 - and I'd just be jealous... |
