On the 2nd of August, Lo-Cot a Sleifar will release their debut album,
Miwsig i'ch Traed a Miwsig i'ch Meddwl. Hailing from Cardiff, they are
Steffan Cravos (Sleifar), founder of the influential Welsh-lanhuage hip-hop
outfit, Tystion and producer Curig Huws (Lo-Cut)

Lo-Cut a Sleifar's new partnership was established last year in Paris. They
believe that this album will ' push things to a higher level ' and that '
Welsh Language hip hop will be taken seriously. ' The albums' title
translated into English is ' Music for the feet and music for the mind '
which is their definition of hip-hop - a combination if good beats and
thought provoking lyrics. Although a number of Welsh-language rap acts have
appeared since Tystion exploded on the scene in the Ninties, Lo Cut a
Sleifar believe that Welsh Language hip hop has room to improve.

During his time with Tystion, through his lyrics, Sleifar was renowned for
his anti-authoritaianism. This album however has only one overtly political
track. ' Sefyll Fel Un' tells the tale of the longest ever strike in
Britain - The Great Strike of Penrhyn - and draws comparisons with the
Friction Dynamix strike in Caernarfon nearly a century later. Sleifar argues
that hardly anything has change since those days and that workers are still
oppressed and exploited by multi-corporate companies, the powers that be and
Anti-Union laws. Commissioned by the Pesda Roc Festival committe, it was
first performed at the Festival in 2003, supporting the Super Furry Animals.
They were joined on stage by representatives of TGWU from Friction Dynamix,
who had been constantly on the picket line for nearly three years.

Like creative generals in a hip hop army, Lo Cut a Sleifar are back and
ready to rock the nation once again. Miwsig i'ch Traed a Miwsig I'ch Meddwl
will be as influential as Tystion's groundbreaking 1997 debut Rhaid i Rybeth
Ddigwydd.

Lo Cut a Sleifar will be performing at this years Eisteddfod in Newport on
the main field on Thursday the 5th August, Ebwy Bridge Club on Thursday
night and TJ's on the Friday night.
