okay, probably not an original idea, but if you had to condense the "White" album by The Beatles down to 1 disc, what would you have on it? and no smartarse is to bother pointing out that most of disc 2 will fit on disc 1 (or vice versa) - you can only have 15 tracks (which is the average number of songs per disc on the existing double-album), coz it's my post and I make the rules Razz

here are the choices, for lazy and/or forgetful people...

Disc 1
01. BACK IN THE U.S.S.R.
02. DEAR PRUDENCE
03. GLASS ONION
04. OB-LA-DI, OB-LA-DA
05. WILD HONEY PIE
06. THE CONTINUING STORY
OF BUNGALOW BILL
07. WHILE MY GUITAR GENTLY WEEPS
08. HAPPINESS IS A WARM GUN
09. MARTHA MY DEAR
10. I'M SO TIRED
11. BLACKBIRD
12. PIGGIES
13. ROCKY RACCOON
14. DON'T PASS ME BY
15. WHY DON'T WE DO IT
IN THE ROAD?
16. I WILL
17. JULIA

Disc 2
01. BIRTHDAY
02. YER BLUES
03. MOTHER NATURE'S SON
04. EVERYBODY'S GOT SOMETHING TO
HIDE EXCEPT ME AND MY MONKEY
05. SEXY SADIE
06. HELTER SKELTER
07. LONG, LONG, LONG
08. REVOLUTION 1
09. HONEY PIE
10. SAVOY TRUFFLE
11. CRY BABY CRY
12. REVOLUTION 9
13. GOOD NIGHT

Oh, and I'll permit the version of REVOLUTION that appears on disc 1 of the 'Blue' album also Wink

*goes off to work-out his own selection*

okay, I had some difficulty omitting 3 of the tracks I have left off, the rest was fairly easy, and I didn't bother with the non-LP version of Revolution seeing as I had enough of a job selecting the rest.
here is my final choice:

01. Happiness Is A Warm Gun
02. While My Guitar Gently Weeps
03. Piggies
04. I Will
05. Rocky Raccoon
06. Blackbird
07. Everybody's Got Something To Hide Except Me And My Monkey
08. Mother Nature's Son
09. Cry Baby Cry
10. Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da
11. I'm So Tired
12. Julia
13. Martha My Dear
14. Sexy Sadie
15. Helter Skelter

what about it? Rolling Eyes

musically, it's boring... lyrically, it's nothing to write home about either

tho it beats some of the others I left out

my top 3 almosts were: Back In The USSR, The Continuing Story Of Bungalow Bill and Yer Blues ...I suppose Dear Prudence would be next.
