If anything was puttin you off it was that wanky Italian Job top I was wearing.
I can laugh about it now but at the time it was terrible _________________ "fashioned by the blade of a world that doesn't care,

Why were you wearing the wanky Italian Job top then?
Were you drunk already when you left for the gig?
I'm glad you can laugh about it now. You should send us some pictures about you wearing it so that we could all laugh as well! _________________

I was sober at the time, and I wore it so that Melz could spot me from across the cough crowded cough room. Which he didn't _________________ "fashioned by the blade of a world that doesn't care,

You? Sober?
Why didn't you wear your pink mini-skirt then and the lovely flower hat? I'm sure Melz would have spotted you then. _________________

Yes me sober! Sober enough to remember that if I owned a pink skirt I would have probably worn it, but seeing as though I don't had to go with the wanky geeky bright blue bollocks shirt I did wear!
OK?!?!?!??!!

damn, this is a hard one, cos my first gig was over 20 years ago, can't realistically rate them from this distance. so these choices are based on imperfect memories!
the Jam - Hammersmith Palais, December 1981
Orange Juice - Lyceum 1983 (i think!)
the Smiths - Lyceum 198something
Billy Bragg - ICA Jan 1984
Redskins - Cardiff uni 1984
Martin Grech - Garage, 2003. also acoustic earlier this year.
the Mars Volta - Electric Ballroom, June 2003
Super Furry Animals - Brixton Academy last year
Manics - all the gigs i've seen so far.
BraveCaptain - AFM gig 2002 - Barfly
i'm beginning to think i should just include nearly all the gigs i've been to, very few stand out as bad. the Hives come to mind in that category though! |
