Feckin Ace Punk-Pop!

Ash are just about the only band for me that can get away with sounding the same for a decade and still be great Smile

their sound did change a bit on nu-clear sounds, but that didn't work out too well commercially.

i agree though, they're still great despite not changing much. i guess a decent tune is a decent tune, whatever you do to it in production or "sound" terms.

I love Ash. Tim has the ability, like Damon Albarn and BC, to put a catchy hook or melody in nearly all of his tunes, no matter how rocky or poppy they are. I couldn't understand why Nu-Clear Sounds flopped, it’s a good album and I thought 'Jesus Says' was a top single.

Well Meltdown is more like Nu-clear sounds than the other two.

It's incredibly good though in a Summery feel good POP! kind of way.

Can't wait to have it on in car on way to Glasto now Smile

The Ash album is brilliant, even better than "Free All Angels". They really need to sort their sleeve designs out though, apart from "Trailer" they've all been crap.

Did you get the version with the weird plastic box that's a sod to get into?

Nope, I got the usual plastic CD case one which I am guaranteed to snap/break/destroy within the next week or so, just like every other CD case I've got. I am a clumsy young man.

i really loved ashs' first 7 singles (up until kung fu) but that one from a life less ordinary aside, i find their albums really sluggish n dull now. i'll admit they have the odd nice hook but i just find most of the songs really dull.

Charlotte from Ash's solo single "Kim Wilde" is very good as well.

Pretty good. Quite amazingly I never expected her voice to sound like that

That was my first thought as well!

The message board on that site is a bit scary, the top posting bloke only joined on June 7th and has already posted 217 times. I think I have found the only man in the world who is more bored at work than me.
