Me and my brother have always agreed on this. While there are obviously bands / artists out there who make great albums (usually followed by much the same but less interesting versions), the true test of a great er, "career" ( Confused ) is:

Can you make a great 90 minute compilation tape? Nothing but wall to wall classics by one band/artist filling 90 full minutes is incredibly difficult I tell thee.

I sat down tonight and attempted this theory with a certain bravecaptain, and it's the easiest tape I ever made. In fact, the hardest part was deciding which tunes to cut out! My tracklisting ended up as this:

Side 1
The Sound Of Wichita
Into Thin Air
This Weight That You Have Found
Every Word You Sound
I Was A Teenage Deathsquad
Corporation Man
Stand Up And Fight
The Wichita Airport Motel
Weaponized

Side 2
I Pledge Resistance To The Flag
Hermit Vs The World
Toytown Is A Drag
Rod's Got One
Fucking Sunday
Good Life
Death Of A Band 2003
All Watched Over By Machines Of Loving Grace
My Mind Pictures
Little Buddah

The entire tape has brilliant continuation, though I'm really amazed at the lack of Fingertip Saint songs I ended up with.

I'm lovin it.

interesting.

no third unattended bag? Confused

i think most bands with five albums or so could produce enough good songs to fill a tape. but that's a pretty impressive ratio - 90mins of great music from 3 1/2 albums and some singles.

how do you get brilliant continuation when making a compilation? does it takes loads of effort to work out the order, or did it just sound good by coincidence?

I dump them all into a media player, then listen to the last ten seconds of one track and the first ten seconds of the next track. It's not exactly hard work but can still involve some luck Surprised

No Third Unattended?

Pretty pricey for a paperweight...
Thought you might want to know what I think of your site:

-'Vanquer du Derby' / P.J.Mene - why's there no proper picture of the whole sculpture? I wouldn't pay £5000 if I could only see the legs of that... thing... beforehands!

-If you move your mouse above the last three buttons ('checkout', 'auctions', 'contact us') the background behind those changes to white/yellow! I like the new shining button effect.

-The small pictures on the main page took a while to open, don't know why. The bigger ones opened up much quicker.

-The buttons on the left hand side on the 'Auctions' screen get resized for some reason (they're much smaller) and look quite stupid.

More later...
Keep up the good work, most of the site looks very cool and professional.

Well, who knows - maybe bravecaptain or gillworm or Dubya-T or kenfrom rhyl (wherever he is!) would be interested to buy one of those fine sculptures! Wink

Well if anyone is.................................... Shocked ...............................................................

It will be finished with proper antique data and photography (by me Confused )by end of the month.

I also don't earn any money out of it - just the presence of a website to get me a job innit.
