We're nearly half way through the decade, what do the BC board kids reckon is the best album of the past 5 years? It think it might be "A Grand Don't Come For Free" but that could just be cos its recent - I'm getting old and can't remember more than 2 weeks ago. |

Its bad isn't it, if we all weren't so god damn cool I'd say we are getting old. |

"Hair is thin, my size is large, what have I done to me?"
...as somebody once said!
I was talking to some young metal fans at work about having seen Nirvana and the first time I saw Metallica back in 1986. One of them says "I was only 4 years old then!"
It's things like that that unnerve me, the rest of the time I don't really think about it. _________________ We would like to announce that due to cutbacks the light at the end of the tunnel has been switched off..... |

I just realised that 2001 was so shit I can't even remember what my fave album of that year was!
excluding that year, my faves so far are Xtrmntr, Stories From The City... AFM, Songs For The Deaf, AWOBMOLG, A Rush Of Blood To The Head.
Quite shockingly conservative apart from BC I'm afraid _________________ "fashioned by the blade of a world that doesn't care,

My top albums from 2000 onwards so far include: Happy Songs For Happy People (Mogwai), Lost Horizons (Lemon Jelly), Hail To The Theif (Radiohead), Exterminator (PS), and AWOBMOLG.
That's a lot less that I thought, most of my fav albums are '95 to '00. I guess that's a sign of getting old too, bugger! _________________ http://www.facebook.com/thelostcavalry

Just did a search for LCD Soundsystem and heard a sample from 2002.
Any more info about them would be greatly appreciated.

The fucking Spicegirls.
Take your fucking "Girl Power" and shove it up yer arse - you did more to damage the perceptions of what makes a strong woman than any man ever could.
Porn is like a car crash. I know it's wrong yet I can't help looking. I do apologise. I guess I try and justify myself by saying I've never bought any in my life, and therefore no one profits. The same can't be said for the likes of FHM et al. My excuse on that one is that I was thick as pigshit until four years ago.
And The Manics can fuck off too.

House of Jealous Lovers
by The Rapture, is one of those songs that would have been epochal had it been released in another year. But it's still fecking brilliant. All together now

best album of the last five years? easy!
the spice girls greatest hits cd, pop power yeah!!!
...not really...
my memory is awful but i would add stuff like johnny cash "american III" and "american IV", the two stokes albums, tom hingley + the lovers' "abba are the enemy" cd, gorkys zygotic mynci's "blue trees" cd, the glc albums, bravecaptains stuff (obviously) and my fave release this decade so far would be the latest lp by julie doiron "goodnight nobody" - i reserve the right to change my mind (and i will!) there is probably lots i have missed there tho - like the streets, brmc, white stripes, apc, aphex twin etc |
