just received a boo radleys CD called Black Sessions, a french radio live recorded in november 1998.
the sound is crystal clear and all the 12 songs are great. Martin's guitar so inventive ;Sice's voice as good ever, specially on kingsize & comb my hair. i think i'm missing him very much ...
i remember well how bad i felt when i heard they split - and listening to them again tonite brings back bittersweet memories to me ...

Agree, hearing it again on Good Life made me realize it all over again.
Besides Eggman was so underrated as an album. Hopefully he will come back one day. _________________ none |

In 100% agreement with Mr cases. I loved the Boo's but (tragic though it was) if they hadn't split, I think they would eventually have become just any other band, and I wouldn't have got to hear "Weaponized".

Though I like Martin's singing, I got all nostalgic over Sice singing, and it hit me how much I had missed it. But hey, that's life, few voices are that good.

The strange thing about Good Life for me was that before the album came out I couldn't wait to hear Sice singing again, but once I'd heard it I found myself thinking how pointless it was that Sice sang it, and wandered how Martins version would have been.
i think it shows how far Martin has come under the bravecaptain banner. God I love im

Martin and Sice's voices sound pretty similar anyway really. Nice to have Sice on the album though!
The live version of Good Life (i.e. 'withallourmight') is better than the album version I think, but that's because it's a bit slower, rather than because it's Martin instead of Sice. Works really well a bit slower. _________________ http://www.facebook.com/thelostcavalry

Now the question is:
will Mr Sice see his shadow and get scared back down his hole? or will spring arrrive on time this year?

Never mind Sice or Martins voice, have you heard Britney Spears on her new single? She sounds like Metal Mickey during the verses She's never been Aretha Franklin in the vocal department but surely her record company can afford some sort of machine that makes her sound at least vaguely human. |

nope. after the pitch correction, that's all that's left. a computer singing perfectly in tune.
a friend of a friend was working at a studio that was doing post-production for something or other of hers. they logged 90 hours of pitch correction. scared him off working on pop music altogether. _________________ "Even I know the solution: love, music, wine and revolution..." (magnetic fields)

I've probably been blind to another mail on this subject further down, but speaking of Sice...
... has anyone else got that Meister album with him on then? Pretty good (even non-Sice songs)! I always thought that Idha had a good voice and she's on it...
