Franz Ferdinand.

Kiss my arse. Thank God it's not sealed in a bag so I didn't have to buy the wanky stained drip of tossemen.

boy, they must have had a hard time choosing between the Libertines, Babyshambles and the Ferds...I mean, there are only 3 bands in this country, plus Morrrissey, aren't there?

'Take Me Out' is brilliant but the rest of the Franz Ferdinand album is merely OK. Have we had an album of the year thread on here yet?

I'm not self confident enough to start my own 'Album of The Year' thread, what if no-one posted on it? Here's some albums of the year list from the Onion AV Club, I've never heard of most of them:

I don't understand why people like that Kanye West album so much, it just sounds like middle of the road generic hip hop to me.

I've bought less albums this year than possibly any other since I was 16, so I feel quite unqualified to start a list too. Anyway, I've banged on about allonewordsmallbee enough already Wink

Right about Take Me Out though. Incredible. In my honest opinion though the rest of the album is shite.

I haven't heard the other songs on the album, only Take Me Out. It's decent, I liked it a lot when I first heard it, but it's not one of these songs that I will still remember in 10 years. Fuck, I've probably forgotten it as soon as they stop playing it regularly on radio (less than 3 months) and that's the end of Franz Ferdinand.
Kinkster, it's your duty as a citizen of Sheffield to start the Best 2004 Album thread.

The three Franz Ferdinand singles that I know are all pretty damn good I think. Good pop anyway!

The Laura Veirs album is wonderful; the Go! Team; Devendra Banhart; All Watched Over... [naturally]; DFA #2 comp... it's not been a brilliant year for albums, I don't think...

Personally I think the NME will go for The Streets album. And I don't give a toss what anyone says but I did like that Wolfman tune with Pete Doherty on it. Not really bothered about Libertines. Franz Ferdinand album is good, but not amazing, but they still kick arse live, even if they do wear clothes like Rigsby from Rising Damp. And Chris Evans gets my back up. And Paul Rodgers in Queen?!?!?!?!? Does this mean they will do 'The Songs of Yesterday' together??
