Who can top this for a bad start to the week? Whilst on my way to the hospital to receive painful physio on my knee I had to endure listening to Paul (prince of the twats) Weller's version of The Beatles "Come Together" on the radio.

Top that for depressing.

It took an hour and ten minutes to get to work because of traffic, during which I was subjected to "Rush Hour" CD1.

I think he's putting on CD2 for the return journey

i fell asleep on the couch at around eighty thirty a.m and when i awoke the house was filled with thick, choking smoke ( no exaggeration). i had left a big pan of chick peas on the hob and they had eaten all the water and set fire to me pan. can't take yr eye off 'em.

I remember the days when you could leave a pan of chick peas on the boil for 14 hours and they'd be fine.

Thinks aint what they used to be.

I always find chick peas are very nice with garlic, onions, tomatoes and a small bit of chilli. Very tasty indeed.

How dare you insult my taste in food. I'll have you know it is very nice and gives the chickpeas a wonderful flavour. And, yes you can taste them in all the 'shit'. Even nicer if you have a spare bit of aubergine to chuck in chopped into fine cubes. Nothing wrong with my cooking, pal.

Just to clarify...... I was at work and didn't have time to say "all those extra ingredients and flavourings"..... so I said shit instead.

In no way at all was I saying your cooking is shit.

Now excuse me all this talk has made me hungry for finely chopped aubergines.

I think.

quite right kinky old son. katiekens dish sounds luvverly. i like to boil chickpeas until they stick to the pan and then gently, just gently, sprinkle some fire all over the house. lush.

chopped red pepper added in the last ten minutes of cooking also adds extra zest.
Also I can recommend the dish domoda, a peanut and potato stew which is marvellous. Use unsweetned peanut butter though. If anyone is going to Glastonbury, they do a good domoda in the Jazz Field on the Gambian food stall.
Apologies for taking things literally, its just I am off work at the moment, and have numbed my brain getting stressed at stupid people on the Crystal Maze. Oh, and the Wheel of Fortune. Great.

I was wrong..... he didn't make me listen to CD 2 on the way home - he put Alien Ant Farm on instead.

Then this mornings little treat has been being forced through Linkin Park while sitting in a traffic jam for 90 minutes.

*Gnashes teeth*
