I've just got hold of the 2 disc remaster thingy & it's as great as it ever was.
The American mix of the album on disc 2 is interesting. Imagine THB with "Gold Against The Soul" production. I still prefer the original mix, it captures the mood better.
The rest of the extra stuff is the usual demo/session fare which I can take or leave.
This has got to be one of my favourite albums of all time. _________________ We would like to announce that due to cutbacks the light at the end of the tunnel has been switched off..... |

I have that one, yeah... was from Cardiff in '98, I think. Not a patch on the acoustic live version tho |

Not heard that I don't think....is that one 'commercially available'?
Christ, thought it has reminded me, the version of 'Faster' they played on the Greatest Hits tour - now that WAS bad. The songs name, nevermind anything else, should have told them that slowing it down to a mid-tempo ballad was not the way to go. _________________ Scattershot Writing: www.jameseverington.blogspot.com |

commercially available? well, I think it's (only) on the Everything Live video, as far as releases go... but it was also heard more recently on BBC radio when they had that 'Manics take over the BBC for a week' thingummy last December... might not be online now tho
as for that version of Faster...
the recorded version, on THB, is my favourite Manics track. what an aberration that live version was... and they even committed it to a CD, I think |

Oh great. I'm glad that it has been saved for posterity... _________________ Scattershot Writing: www.jameseverington.blogspot.com |

I may have to invest in this 2 cd set. The Holy Bible is by far their best album and I adore it. |

the dvd has two performance from Unplugged, just Nicky and James, just gorgeous. worth the price for those few minutes alone.
I was super-cool, I bought mine in Spillers in Cardiff, the Manics own local record shop! and paid 2 quid less than it was selling for in London! |

the extra tracks aren't worth bothering with, the US Mix is horrible, and the DVD is only 40 mins long, and has no footage of Richey
wait till it's in the bargain bin |
