Did like it at first but its grown on me an awful lot, it’s a cross between Technique and Get Ready. To be honest I seem to like everything I hear these days, at 28 I've finally moved on from being a sulky unimpressed teenager, and I'm now easily impressed and think everything is great. I heard the Gorillaz single over the weekend as well and that sounds very good as well. Pop music is ace.

Do you reckon they are? I think all their covers are brilliant, even the new one, its understated and classy. But, as we've established, I'm easily impressed.

Yeah, the new one reminded me of the Pet Shop Boys too.
It's still shit though, just like most of the PSB album covers.
I heard that Pet Shop Boys paid a lot of money for the guy who designed the 'Introspective' album cover... and it's just a bunch of vertical colorful stripes! Shocked It's a top album though...

Looks like it.

The Get Ready sleeve, now that was rubbish!

(And the album inside sounds like a cross between the worse bits of Technique and Republic..... which is a big shame!)

(1) i noticed that it is now peter saville's company rather than peter saville himself that designs the new order sleeves - they're not what they used to be. i love peter saville's work and went to his retrospective exhibition last year which was incredible, but i don't rate the new new order sleeve at all - a bit of a lazy effort for me.

(2) those late 80s/early 90s pet shop boys sleeves were done by mark farrow who has a similar style and is clearly inspired by saville.

(3) technique is great and substance is the best best of ever!

A bit of a lazy effort, eh?

I could have done that with Paint in 5 seconds!! Shocked

Maybe it's full of symbolism or something (I haven't heard the album yet), but in my opinion a good album sleeve looks good as well!
