Following on from the mix CD post and mixedcasespaces' desire to upload his mix for us all to hear....

If anyone is interested, I have the webspace (600Mb or so) and an FTP server to host any mixes that people fancy doing.

Ideally the mix would be one MP3 file rather than lots of tracks - probably no more than an hour max (which ought to be about 100mb a@ 192kbps).

It wouldn't need to be anything fancy, just a bunch of tunes you like & think sound good together.

You'd upload them to my FTP server and then I'd stick 'em on the web.
Full instrucctions & address for the FTP server will be given if you send me a PM.
If that's too technical you could always send me a CD in the post I suppose!

What's anyone think?

Sounds good to me..... i'd love to try to do a mix cd/mp3. It would probably just be one tune after another though, i haven't got the equipment or knowhow for mixing properly....

i'll have to try and think of songs to put on it now......

What software can you use to put files in MP3 format rather than ones you can only play on Itunes or Windows Media Player?

Try:

http://www.dbpoweramp.com/

It's quite easy to use, free, and converts to lots of other formats too.

Excellent, great idea Dubya!
I'll endeavour to convert my mix into a single mp3 version this week some time. Actually, it's in two halves, so maybe I'll make it into two mp3's, one for 'side A', one for 'side B'. It's not quite as 'mixed' as the bc one, i.e. there's more full songs in it, but there's a lot of little samples and bits in between too, some of which are quite good.

Good God I need a hair cut.

BUMP!

I've got the first mix now from Sparky, so time to get cracking on a web page (and a mix of my own I suppose!)

Cool

I'm definitely up for this, I should have some free time tonight or at least on Saturday, so expect an mp3 soon!
