A bad day for Barnsley fans... I listened to the match on Radio Sheffield and I heard we were terrible. What do our Argyle fans say about Barnsley's performance today?
Shefki Kuqi
scored on his Binmen (Ipswich) debut, he's on loan from Sheffield Washday. I can't believe Turner let his best player go!
Ruud Van Nistelcheat
scored 3 goals as ManUre won Leicester City 1-4.
Today's trashing:
Hull City 6 - 1 Kidderminster
Half time score was 1-1... _________________

Resident Doncaster fan here to say just one simple message about today's game:
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO-HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
All three Rovers goals were superb and the Bury penalty should not have been awarded at all.
Oh, and to mention the cup game from last week (I wasn't there but I wish I could have been.)
CRYSTAL PALACE 2 - 1 DONCASTER ROVERS
1-0 Johnson (pen)
2-0 Johnson (pen)
2-1 Blundell

Sorry Tommy but Barnsley were dire today. Argyle played very well and created numerous chances. Man of the match was undoubtably Sasa Ilic (how the piss did he end up at Barnsley?) and I have to say of the outfield players on both sides Kevin Betsy was as good as any, but overall Barnsley played too deep and their defence was too slow. When renowned Argyle pie muncher Michael Evans can outpace a defence in the 70th minute then you know they're sluggish (for you non-Argyle fans- Evans generally looks like he'd rather be having a kip and has not out run any defender since about 1994). All right Rory Fallon hit the bar with a header but our keeper had little else to do.
Quite honestly it may well have been an off day after all it's only your 2nd defeat and your defensive record is sound, but in the first 15 minutes it looked like a team that not only had never played together but hadn't even seen a football before... there were at least 3 air shots/ miskicks by reds defenders. Don't worry yet though (and I won't get too confident or boastful).... it's only one game.
for me and a for you [/quote] |

Thanks a lot Forbes!
Plymouth are a good team, but our manager Gudjon Thordarson admitted that Barnsley just didn't work hard enough and deserved to lose! I like his attitude, he's nothing like our previous managers who had all kind of excuses when we lost. He also congratulated Plymouth for a good match.
Sasa Ilic has been great indeed, but Football League still doesn't let us buy more players... We need a new striker to play with Rory Fallon. They say that Dion Dublin from Aston Villa could be coming to Barnsley!
Hopefully the Tykes recover from this loss and we'll win again next week! |

That was me of course... I wonder why I wasn't logged in.
Good luck for Plymouth this season, maybe we both go up! _________________

Did anyone see what happened at the end of Wigan - Coventry game today? It was a real disgrace...
Coventry scored 0-1 on 90th minute and thought that they would win. However, Wigan equalized a minute later when their keeper fumbled the ball. The scorer wheels away, and two Wigan players celebrate on the line. And what does the Coventry keeper do... he see's two Wigan players celebrating the equalizer, and just as they are going to join the rest of the celebration, they run past him, and the keeper deliberately sticks their legs out and trips both of them up!
What a fucking idiot! _________________

Thanks for the plaudits Tommy.
Yeah maybe both teams will go up. I've only seen half a dozen of the sides in Div 3 in the flesh and none has taken my breath away (say the way Wigan, Cardiff and Crewe did last year) and at the moment Bristol City, QPR and Sheffield Wed are not exactly storming away as many expected they would. It's still early days though and I don't expect Port Vale to stay the pace....
As for Coventry and maybe I'm biased (though I did live in the concrete calamity of a city for a year and quite enjoyed both the night life and the footie when I couldn't get to Home Park), but having seen a coach load of Cov fans laughing out the coach window at a major smash on the M6 cos they saw Wolves fans inspecting the wreckage (of which my car was unscathed in the middle of it all ) I hope their keeper gets bollocked and I always wish nothing but relegation on them anyway now! |

Great save Sparky!
Dean Windass must be one of the most embarrassing names ever. _________________

What happened during the last minutes of Wales vs. Serbia-Montenegro?! If Wales hadn't lost Finland would have been third in the qualification group and our way to the World Cup 2006 would have been easier... Now we're fourth and we'll get a difficult qualification group next time. _________________

Blades v West Brom today.
I predict 2-1 to The Blades, taking us above them into top place.......

Oooh and the reality was better than the prediction!!!!!
Only top on goal difference but it proves we are an attacking side, I think if we can beat West Brom so convincingly we have a damn good chance at automatic promotion this year....

How many goals did Leo Fortune-West score?
I've heard a wild rumour that he might be coming to Barnsley... I don't want to make you sad Melz, so I hope that he stays in Doncaster. I know he's a top player though, but I'd like to see Doncaster at least in Division Two as well. _________________
