Wow...a thread discussing The Cure here. I couldn't live without the complete works on my i-pod!
My top 3 albums ever are Disintegration, Pornography and Giant Steps!
Try the new remastered Pornography album - it is superb. Or rip the soundtrack from the Trilogy DVD ono the i-pod.
Also how about:
Expecting to Fly - The Bluetones
Return to the Last Chance Saloon - The Bluetones
Science and Nature - The Bluetones
Without You I'm Nothing - Placebo
Placebo - Placebo
Sophtware Slump - Grandaddy
The Trinity Sessions - Cowboy Junkies
Stop Making Sense - Talking Heads
Seven - James
Xtrmntr - Primal Scream
Reading Writing & Arithmetic - The Sundays
Static & Silence - The Sundays
Take a look at the Trigger Happy TV soundtracks albums. |

Nice to see the Bluetones get a mention here, I've seen them live several times and it's heartening to see that their live following is so enthusiastic and devoted, even if their sales ain't so great.
Yet another band that should be covered by the music press but hardly gets a look in. If it wasn't for the internet it would be impossible to get news of bands of their stature - perhaps that's the NME's excuse for its laziness! |

Here's what I've got (with marks out of 10)
Talulah Gosh - Rock Legends vol 69 (10/10)
Primal Scream - Primal Scream (10/10)
Pale Saints - Comforts of madness (10/10)
Wedding Present - George Best (7/10)
JJ72 - JJ72 (8/10)
Ash - Free All Angels and/or 1977 (8/10)
Rialto - Rialto (8/10)
Stone Roses - Stone Roses (10/10)
The Chesterfields - Crocodile Tears (8/10)
...hmm, lots of self-titled albums there - goes to show that a lot of bands go downhill rapidly! |

Nice to see Talulah Gosh get a mention here.
Though their Heavenly incarnation is better.
This might be sacrilige to say on this board, but 3-Star Compartment is my second favourite song ever. It has the sweetest vocals and a jingle-jangle guitar rift that melts me every time.
I'm a twee indie kid at heart |
