I'm really really underwhelmed with the new SFA album

I was praying for a techno job, maybe that's why I'm so disappointed!

Lazer Beam sounded cool at Oxegen on Sunday, wasn't so sure about Zoom, but other than that they put on the best show of the whole weekend by far.
dunno the exact order but the setlist was:
- Slow Life*
- (Drawing) Rings Around The World*
- Run! Christian, Run!
- Do Or Die
- Zoom
- The International Language Of Screaming
- Hello Sunshine
- Juxtapozed With U
- Lazer Beam
- Fire In My Heart
- Ice Hockey Hair*
- The Man Don't Give A Fuck*
(songs with a * after them are in the position they were played in the set)
great songs, great visuals, better sound than anyone, 'glow in the dark' suits, Power Rangers helmets and more. No one else made such effort that I saw.
best band in the world |

oooh. What kind of response could I give to cover all legal bases here?!
Fuck it. It's a copy from a firend of a friend of a repeat until bored.
I'm going to give it a few more listens then either delete it or buy it on the 15th August.

Just wondered if you had an actual copy. A shiny one, with pictures.
Anyway, I am impatient to hear it. I expect nothing less than the best. _________________ never ever bloody anything ever |

i wouldn't say "underwhelmed"... it's just a very...y'know... "mellow" exercise. different to what you'd generally expect from one of their albums...
i only got it yesterday so i reckon it deserves a few more listens... i think it may be one of those grows-on-yer-like-a-patch-o-moss albums....

oo-er...
Whisper it, but I was totally underwhelmed by the last album. Listened to it a few times, thought it was no better than ok, filed it away, went back to it about 8 months later cos I was bored and completely changed my mind about it! And now, I'm lovin' it lovin' it lovin' it, I'm lovin' it like that.
Will probably do the same with this un. |

I think it's fucking wondrous.
I've had it on repeat play for the last three days. I can't remember the last time I did that with an album.
part Beach Boys [especially Atomic Lust], Caravan, Love Unlimited Orchestra, but they're just vague reference points in the 'warmest' and most inviting record I've heard since Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots.
Love the sword mangel and harmonica on The Horn. My favourite two tracks, however, are Frequency [Gruff doing a Punjabi Marvin Gaye] and Oi Frango, which sounds like the theme to the best children's TV show never made.
I'm not normally a fawning fanboy, and I'm not a fully signed-up member of the Furries' fanclub, but this is exactly the record I want to be listening to in this steamy, bake the flags weather. _________________ The Musical Mystery Tour,

It's not grown on me as an album, but what I will say is the first two songs, "Zoom" & "Atomik Lust", make you think it's going to be the best album ever. They are fucking great!
Gimme that Juan Maclean album anyday.. I love it

I've listened to it a few times now and i really like it. It usually takes me a few listens to really get into the furries. They are probably my favourite band still making music today and have never let me down. Guerilla is still may favourite one but this one is ace. _________________ Martin O'Neill's Claret And Blue Army |
