Its a monkey dominated site today and that can only be a good thing. According to the kids in the know, i.e. some bloke i heard on the radio at the weekend, The Arctic Monkeys will soon be everyone's favourite new band - on this one they sound like a Sheffield version of Kings Of Leon.

Doon't believe t' 'ipe. Never heard anyone sing in a yorkshire accent before.

Love the two tunes I've heard by them. Fake Sound of San Fransisco has the funniest lyrics since Jarvis was around...

"Sings stories from San Fransisco but he's from Hunters Bar,
Not sure of the distance but I'm sure that's pretty far.

and yeah I'll tell you my problem,
You're not from New York City
you're from Rotherham"

I've just got back from the shops with that very publication, if its any good i'll hop seemlessly from the cricket bandwagon to the arctic monkeys bandwagon.

Did you ever finish your mix Kinkster or are you holding it back so you can release it in a few months when Sheffield is the centre of the musical world?

Hmm, the mix.... yessssss. hmmm.

Like I said, I finished it in the space of an hour. I just haven't been able to get the damn thing recorded or output in any recognisable form. My Windows Recorder doesn't even work!

Once I'm finished working here I'll get back to it, but if I can't figure it out I'll just post the tracklisting of what could have been Rolling Eyes

...and I'm in NME too (unfortunately, just in the photo of the audience at White Heat, watching the fantastic Young Knives!) Smile

If you used Cubase you need to select the entire mix by dragging the mouse in the time bar at the top and then go to

File> Export> Audio mixdown

then you can save it as whatever audio format you like!

Yes but it usually gets half way through then loses connection with my sound card and crashes my PC. Confused

I recorded mine just using the basic sound recorder thing built into windows but I can't remember how I got it to record what was coming out of the computer rather than from the microphone. The original version had bits of me singing along cos I didn't realise I was being recorded, hopefully it will one day surface on my Anthology. Just had a quick look now and can't remember what I changed to get it to record like though so I'm not much help.

My Windows Recorder just flat out refuses to record anything, saying something about not liking my audio hardware Rolling Eyes

Anyway, once this game* is finished I'm sure I'll find time to figure it out Razz
