Was there ever a good film remake?

Has anyone seen that Corpse Bride film?

Any good horrors on TV in the last week/this week? I watched The Omen, again, the other day. Such a well made, intelligent film. Missed the sequel that was shown the night after, tho... anyone ever see it, or the third installment? I haven't, and wonder if they're as good...

And what's everyone's favourite films, like, ever!?

corpse bride is really really good

great animation and some good dead people gags

they have some of the puppets and art from the film at the Corner house in Manchester at the moment. Had a little look at them the other day. Quite cool to see.

Nice one Discy! Very Happy

Film remakes are a bit shit usually, in my opinion.
The only decent one that I can think of was Vanilla Sky.

And no, I haven't seen that Corpse Bride film.

The Omen is a brilliant film, one of my biggest favourites! I just love the scene where everyone's celebrating Damien's birthday and then his nanny jumps from the window and hangs herself! Twisted Evil LOVE IT!
The Omen 2 is pretty good as well, and The Omen 3 isn't too bad either, but neither of them is as good as the first one. But I haven't seen those two for years, even though I've got the whole trilogy on DVD... Very Happy
I don't know, it's much too difficult to choose just one.

My favourite film, like, evar is the very first Star Wars movie of course. Smile Or Indiana Jones. Or Evil Dead... Very Happy

I expect so... recall seeing The Nightmare Before Christmas back in the day, and thought that was really well made... just, you know, that doesn't mean there's always a good story to go with it. Hence my question... Thinking of seeing the new Wallace & Gromit one first. Tim Burton films are often good, though

sorry, I forgot who it was who said it, otherwise I'd have said Razz

If we're gonna talk specific moments in The Omen, I thought the man's head being *WARNING SPOILER!* chopped off was wonderfully horrific (although it isn't your average blood and gore type horror film)
Twisted Evil

Someone gave me The Evil Dead to watch the other day, funnly enough. Dunno anything about it... I'll have to have a look now, tho, eh? Wink

joeloke - oh yes, The Crow is a brilliant film too... I only saw it about a month ago for the first time, but it's quite possibly the best film that I've seen this year. Well, the new Wallace & Gromit is ace too... Wink

Discy - Evil Dead is a bit of a classic... it's more like splatter horror than a classic horror movie really, but I liked it, it's kinda funny.

Evil Dead II - Dead By Dawn is a must-see. I prefer it to Evil Dead.

Jaws is a classic.

Planet of the Apes (the original)

Evil Dead II is most definitely the best of the trilogy. "Who's laughing now?!" Look out for Bruce Campbell in the movie Bubba Ho-Tep where he plays Elvis and teams up with JFK to fight the Mummy. Genius.

Recently I saw Corpse Bride , Night Watch , and Saw II . All of which were great!

Good remakes? Hmmm... nope!

well, as far as thier ego goes, i guess i could care less what they were like before and/or after they made the movie, besides they're not real mafia-gang members, they're actors. and on top of that i thought they did really good playing Ronald and Reginald Kray, which is based on a true story about two of the most notorious crime leaders in London during the 1960's.

you can learn more about Ronald and Reginald Krays bio's at the following links: http://www.thebiographychannel.co.uk/biography/Ronald_and_Reginald_Kray_1385.htm
