Sorry but thats ridiculous because
1) Pirates of the Carribean is not shite, its brilliant fun, lots of swashbuckling and cool pirate ghosts it may not be Ingmar Bergman but everybody I know who saw it loves it.
2) how on earth could they explain an indian aristocrat in the 1600's in British Colonies?, Pride and Prejudice makes no mention of either of the sisters being Indian, Domino was based on a real person again who was white - I dont think its rascism so much as appropriate casting.
3) Now if you were to mention the reaction to the genocide in Rwanda compared to the Balkans, or general reporting of tragedies which occur in different regions Im pretty sure youd see there is a fair bit of bias in the world

Good grief!

I have probably experienced more politics and misery than most of you (I sort of grew up in it)...even though that shouldn't matter...and I have studied journalism and work for Swedish radio so bias in reporting is something I have an idea of and care about...please don't be patronising.

I know there are better proofs of racism, my point was, here's another place where there is racism/prejudice.

Love & Peace

See where you're coming from...

... but...

... but then why do they/did they 'always' use blacked up white people up to play Othello then? (Any exceptions duley noted). Why would they have to "explain" an Indian playing a part in P+P any more than someone with a massively 20th C accent or different hair colour to what Austin said? I'd hope people have more suspension of disbelief than that...

Pirates Of The Carribean is one of those films you just know is shite without even seeing it

Johnny Depp films are almost always shite anyway. same with Chevy Chase and Hugh Grant, only more so, especially in the case of the latter

I also thought Pirates was boring...it was not the least bit special. It could be because everyone had hyped it...but who knows.

i love entertaining popcorn films. i just wasn't entertained by that. i can see that, me being a lover of splodgebob whoosit, you might think that i only like arty things but, y'know, you like what you like and if somebody else doesn't like it then that's their problem. no point in trying to score bitch points. ed wood is top and fear and loathing is amazing.

I've seen:
Edward Scissorhands
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas
Ed Wood

and enjoyed them all. None of 'em are greats though, and they're his best

I saw The Curse Of The Were-Rabbit yesterday, it was good. Especially the cheesy puns. Some of them were even about cheese Exclamation
