Finally downloaded the album a couple of days ago, listened to it at various times, in various places, and Martin, I just want to say, its cracking – a synthesis of the best of The Boos, the fingertip saint session era and the recent bravecaptain laptopping electronics. Onwards and upwards. |

cant agree more, definitely the finest bravecaptain album to date - pop tunes fcked up in the most glorious ways imaginable. lets hope jerusalem isnt the last bc/akira collaboration cos it's truly awesome. in any sane world that and 'oh you' would be all over our airwaves right now ...
i think i read somewhere that martin wants to concentrate more on djing and remixing and less on making albums, not sure if thats true but would be a great shame cos distractions proves he's still one of the greatest songwriters of this generation. |

'oh you' gets my pick too, but i am loving all of it. it really has all of the elements that i like about bravecaptain. it deserves a proper release. a vinyl version would be amazing. |

Hopefully my internet working again... anyway, my mate downloaded Distractions for me, and I second the comments here:
a) it's great
b) Wichita - what you thinking?
c) like Frosties, it's great.
cheers bc _________________ Scattershot Writing: www.jameseverington.blogspot.com |

Punk Rock is stunning, Oh You is the perfect squelchy accompaniment to a hangover, I Don't Know Any Better is pure pop loveliness. And then there's Jerusalem - "Tricks of The Shade", "The world is lurching so far right, I fall out of bed at night", 3D from Massive Attack being hassled by "The Man", Bob Geldof, Team America, brits on the piss in Prague , "Live fat, die young, love songs unsung", slagging off the editor of The Sun. All human life is there, lovingly wrapped up in the best tune in aeons. |
