And another one...
Getting a 6ft snooker table in my terraced house in Darlington. Dad got me it for my birthday - looked like a full size table cos I was so used to a 3ft one.
Couldn't play around it due to the living room being too small, but still...

What an excellent idea!
Honeymoon on the Beara Peninsular Co. Kerry, Eire last year. The "Fantastic Place"
Cheese rolls made with "tiger paws" from Asda, Wyke farms Somerset cheddar and Branston.
The Peak District around Edale.
Our dog going mental when we get his collar and lead to take him out.
Cold Gin & Tonic and Lowenbrau on a hot day!
Tetleys in West Yorkshire.
Getting an MOT first time for a vehicle I've restored.
Massive Attack at Glastonbury in 1995, and the Boos at Nottingham Rock City later that year.
Seeing 3 of Marillion doing an acoustic show last month in Bristol in an old church. _________________ We would like to announce that due to cutbacks the light at the end of the tunnel has been switched off..... |

yay! let's all aaaaaacentuate the positive... eeeeeeliminate the negative... here's some of mine:
- standing on stage at glastonbury 2004 as paul mccartney kicked into helter skelter and watching 100,000 muddy people go nuts...
- the way my mum's grilled cheese sandwiches taste...
- meeting brian wilson and watching him snub jools holland because he was "walking somewhere with kari now..."...
- a pitcher of ice-cold old style, shared around a picnic table with my mates when i was visiting home

Dogs who hang their heads out of moving car windows.
How on earth did you get on stage with Paul McCartney, was it stealth or were you meant to be there? |

i'm a professional "celebrity wrangler" and spend most of my glastonburys hanging out underneath the pyramid stage. while i'd like to imagine this job included roping celebs "rodeo style" and branding them with a searing hot iron, it's sadly more boring that than.
anyhoo, i went up on stage while macca was on to watch a bit, but it was so crowded with liams and noels and kates and who's-whos that i basically had to stand right behind the mixing desk, somewhat near his bass player... knees-knockingly strange feeling... people as far as your vision field... a never-ending sea of punters going out of their minds. very cool.

How is that a good thing? It's not even thirty here and my days have become 'the chronicles of heat'.

clotted cream ice cream a couple of hours ago...
prosecco...
hmmm, this message appears to be chiefly food related!
managing to do 'the tree' position properly in yoga class...
listening to any one of my favourite albums for the first time, that rush of pleasure after the uncertainty of the anticipation...you know, an album with a great opening track like 'the Sound of Wichita' where you think 'yeeees!'...

Best thread in ages! Loads of stuff about dogs here - they really do make people happy (except when they attack, of course).
I found out my happy thing recently. Apparently my dog starts going nuts when she knows I am on my way home. It takes me fifteen minutes by car to get home from work. Fifteen minutes before I arrive, she's running around and barking at the gate. How does she know?
Find the Way Out has made me very happy.
And the Fortean Times also makes me happy. www.forteantimes.com |
