Has anyone heard his 12 songs album?
It's really good. It's produced by Rick Rubin and is very much in the vein of the American Recordings albums he did with Johnny Cash. The songs are very stripped down and this lets their quality come through without the usual cheese associated with latter day Neil Diamond. There's an extra track too, featuring some Brian Wilson harmonies and the fella can still do it after all these years!
Give it a go! _________________ We would like to announce that due to cutbacks the light at the end of the tunnel has been switched off..... |

i've been playing his first greatest hits album quite frequently recently (that sounds nice when you say it out loud, 'frequently recently'. yeah!). it came out in '68 or summat. 'solitary man', wow, 'red red wine', he fucking wrote it and it's a great song! i never realised! ub40 should be fucking shot for their version. they single handedly made me ignore reggae during my formative years, grrrr

Growing up, we had a silver band in our town and their signature tune was Sweet Caroline. They played it at every half-baked community event of my childhood. Now whenever I hear Neil Diamond singing it, I think he stole it from the silver band! Nananaaah na na nananaah..oooh woooo sweeet caroliiine ooh ooh ooh _________________ www.myspace.com/storkboychoons

That "daydream believer" that the monkee's sang, that's a neil diamond song too, isn't it? Man he had great pop sensibilities back then. _________________ www.myspace.com/storkboychoons
