Hey martin - just back from greenman; agree with you entirely, what an amazing festival. great music, incredible settings, good food, clean toilets, barely a w*nker to be found
apologies for not approaching you after your set (had intended to, but got distracted by a random glimpse of 2 of my best friends who i've not seen for several years - it was they who requested betsi's beads, as it happens) or indeed when I was sat about 2 feet away from you, using the wall as support during marissa nadler. loved your folky set - especially the reworking of vote you - in spite of the electronic gremlins, and think the rest of the festival did too. sparking up to the intro of good life, then getting warmed by the emerging sun - that and the next five minutes were probably my best of the whole weekend. i notice several people have you down as a highlight on the greenman website messageboards.
other personal highlights were m ward and gruff on friday, but generally anything i stumbled on in the cafe, but in particular nancy cunliffe and - of course - meic stevens.
can't wait for next year already,
billy

some good coverage of the festival here:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/collective/A13877012
that jose gonzales cover of the kylie song should have featured in 'tune of the day' by now shouldn't it? |

Theres a review of the festival here:
http://www.drownedinsound.com/event/view/18549
The bit about bc says:
Since relocating to Cardiff, Brave Captain (on at The Cafe) has built upon his Boo Radleys heritage to develop a very special and idiosyncratic sound, all wrapped around his intrinsic knack for a good tune.
The power cord on my macbook is broke. Nothing ever works. |

Don't suppose anyone recorded anything? Missed it, but would like to hear it. _________________ Find a job you like, and add five days to every week. |

Any chance of ever hearing those "new" tunes?

I only recognise the first one, I don't have any recollection of the other titles so chances are slim x |

ok, so again i totally suck, first time i've checked in here for about 3 months, but it's my 26th birthday today, wasted in a hostel in a budapest having seen hungary (and akos buszaky legend), erm, demolish malta 2-0 iin budapest. well what can i say? advertisements...is still pretty much a daily listen, green man was again the best british festival and martin, sorry, we never fully caught up in the way i had meant, chicago is the best city in the world and elliott smith is still the biggest waste of musical talent ever. another year older, wishing i wasnt and that i didnt care, my last relationship lastest 3 weeks and she was more special to me than anything i can recall, and even if it wasn't special she worked in a library so at least she paid off all my fines.
