Both of them! (after much muppetry of trying to point the links at my hard drive Embarassed)

Sparky's and mine are there, still plenty of room for more though.

Tracklists are in the comments section of the ID3 tag in case you're wondering.

Speaking for my own, it's basically whole songs with a few extra samples chucked in. It was going to be a bit more eclectic but somehow it didn't fit. I may indulge myself and put up the "handbrake turn" bit I chopped from it.

Anyway, the URL:

www.fredfish.net

If you want to send me something. A PM will get the FTP adress & instructions.

Cool

Excellent! I downloaded them both and will listen to them tomorrow when I have time. I had a quick look at the tracklists and there seems to be some pretty good stuff there. And I knew that there would be something Marillion related in Dubya T's mix! Laughing
Perhaps I'll make my own mix later... I'll probably get too excited again though and experiment a bit too much and ruin the whole thing! Smile

I never noticed that those smileys have eyebrows.

I'm afraid it didn't quite work.

You'll need to download Sparky's again. It didn't upload to my web server properly so is about 40 minutes shorter than it should be!

It's uploading again as I type, so give it an hour or so just to be sure it's there.

Sorry about that. Rolling Eyes

Nice mixes guys! Love the mix into Primal Scream Sparky, really pleased to find the Lamb track in there Dubya-T!

I can't get the track listings either - nothing for the Dubya-T mix, and only half of it for Sparky's one (in the mp3's comment field).

I _really_ will try to get my mix put into the right format to send you very soon... I wanna join in!!! Smile

Here's my track list then:

I did paste them into the comments field on the ID3 tag, but you probably need to open the tag for editing to see it fully (done by right clicking the track name in the playlist in Winamp, don't know about anything else).
Perhaps I'll stick 'em on the site as a .txt file or something.

Track List:
bravecaptain - withallourmight (added sample - outro from marillion - cannibal surf babe)
milo - drop the pressure (with added Dubya Bush)
future sound of london - dead cities
squarepusher - do you know squarepusher?
marillion - kayleigh/ icon (intros)
william orbit - water from a vineleaf (cromer chroma mix)
japan - ghosts
tom waits - swordfishtrombones
one dove - there goes the cure
lamb - gorecki

Kinkster,
I do have the Bush Speech, I'll stick that on the fredfish.net. site soon.

Tommy BOO, I'm expecting some Hanoi Rocks in yours don't disappoint Wink

I did do one, but after hearing those I quickly deleted it....... Confused

I don't listen to the sort of music that can be mixed really. It was more songs I like just merging into another. No samples and the such like.

how did you do your mixes Sparky/Dubya-T?

Songs I like merging into one another....
That's all mine is really apart from the Dubya Bush bit and a couple of rogue bits of Marillion!

I used Cakewalk Pro Audio 9 for mine, which is perhaps a bit over specced for something like a mix, but it did allow me to stick the samples in a separate track and apply effects "in situ" rather than doing it separately.
The only pain was that some of the tracks started out as mp3's so I had to convert them to .wavs to put them in cakewalk before converting back to mp3 to put it on the site.

I also have a copy of Steinberg Wavelab which looks as if it would do the trick just as admirably, although I'm not as familiar with this as Cakewalk. It does look like an impressive editing program though once I've worked out how to use it properly.

There must be some freeware editing programs for doing stuff like this in both .wav and mp3. A quick google should do the trick.

You should submit your mix, mine & Sparky's will get lonely else! You don't need to be the next Paul Oakenfold or whoever. Like I said just stick a bunch of songs together that you like and sound OK together.

Great stuff Sparky and Dubya. I haven't heard One Dove in years and that version of Clint Eastwood is great. I've just downloaded some dodgy freeware mixing software so hopefully over the weekend I can put together a Jive Bunny style mastermix.

wavelab.

rules! i've been using it for four or five years now. i would have done the xfm thing on it. use the 'montage' option for yr mixes.

i need to trim my mix a bit and convert it from mp4 (wavelab doesn't like mp4! wavelab is shit).

I've been looking at Wavelab Martin,

Seems like it's a nice little editor, and the FX are way better than Cakewalk's but it doesn't do multitracking does it? (by that I mean the ability to lay one file over another, all I can get it to do is interrupt the first file).

At risk of this becoming the Dubya-T project, I've decided to upload a remix I did.
As you might have gathered, one of my vices is being a Marillion fan! A while ago they ran a remix contest and I submitted a Dub Reggae type thing of one track. It didn't win any prizes but I thought I'd share it anyway.

To be honest the mix is a bit muddy and the drum sounds are a bit on the casiotone side (I used Fruityloops which is OK but not great), but I still reckon it's worth a listen. I think it sounds best in headphones.

See what you think.
Wink

PS. I've now added a tracklist page, see the link just under the title.
Also respect to Sparky, The way Fatboy Slim slides into Weaponised is the Dogs!
