yes this is upsetting. But obviously Martin will be around in some form or another in the music world (you'd better anyway). _________________ Martin O'Neill's Claret And Blue Army |

Will make sure that I'm there.
Good luck Martin! _________________ we spent a lot of time trying to make our guitars sound like trumpets...then someone told us we could actually use real trumpets |

While I haven't been an intense listener for the past couple of years, I've come here and I've kept up to date. I am sorry for this, but I hope Martin will enjoy whatever he does.

It's not such surprising news isn't it? Unsurprising, but very very sad all the same. I've loved Martin's output as bravecaptain just as much as I did that of The Boo's and I shall continue to look forward to hearing anything he comes up with in the future, whatever that may be and whoever it may be with.
If enough people from the last 6 years of this board are willing to make the effort to get to London on that Sunday, then I shall too. Would be nice to have a good get together for such an event.
Good luck Martin, cheers for everything.

It is sad, bit I assume from the email that Martin's going to keep on with other music stuff like producing and collaborations? That should be good.
...and a hint of some more solo stuff one day in the future maybe of course!
Anyway, everyone should make sure they come to the last gig! P.A.R.T.Y! _________________ http://www.facebook.com/thelostcavalry

well, i could have lost my interest in music when the boo's split up, like all my old friends, who just played their old discs less frequently.
but i still love music (more than ever!!) thanks to bravecaptain.
and i don't think its gonna change.
thanks |

I was tempted to do a corny Beatles-style post this morning, 'I heard the news today, oh boy'.. but since I've only just got a computer and am sharing (ahem!) a neighbour's unsecured wireless connection...I couldn't get a signal!
it's a damn shame, to my ear Martin's voice was better than ever on Distractions and I've been looking forward to hearing whatever he was going to produce this year/next year. there is no justice if he can't get heard outside the net. _________________ (and gillworm! she's so funny!) |

Damn! I've really enjoyed Martin's bravecaptain output. Hopefully he will keep up with the production gigs, 'cause he's too great a talent to retire completely!
Maybe he'll produce Mr. Sice's record.......
Keep in touch guys.
And Martin thank you very much for everything. _________________ "Even I know the solution: love, music, wine and revolution..." (magnetic fields)

I think it's good he's doing other things, I thought that was what Martin's music was all about anyway.
Right....next chapter |
