went to see dj shadow with my friend mr meister last night. what a cracking show and what a lovely bloke shadow is.

you don't have to try too hard to imagine allonewordsmallbee-era bravecaptain being performed in the same way, with laptops and decks and amazing films and lights and guest vocalists and shit, in big venues with hundreds of people cheering.

yeah, unfortunately for mr shadow, many of the audience felt the same way about the new album, leading to the following cringe-making opening exchange:

Shadow: HEY YOU GUYS ALL KNOW MY ALBUMS RIGHT? THERE WAS ENTRODUCING...
Audience: WOOO! YAY!
Shadow: ...THERE WAS THE UNKLE ALBUM...
Audience: WOOO!! YEAHHH!!
Shadow: ...THE PRIVATE PRESS...
Audience: YEAAAHHH! WOO-HOOOO!!
Shadow: ...AND MY NEW ALBUM THE OUTSIDER!!
- SILENCE -

Ouch..

Cracking gig though, there's a man who knows how to entertain a crowd. and he had certainly won the audience over by the end.
