It's based on room 101, from Orwell's 1984 I think, havn't read that particular book. But its become accepted into the language as referring to a general place where all the things you most despise get relegated to. So you just list off some of your pet hates at the moment!

In the book, YOU get put in the room WITH the thing you hate though, as torture...

... given the suggestions so far, you can see how it would make anyone talk.

I've spoken to every person in BT's Indian call centre over the past couple of weeks. I've probably spoken to every person in India over the past couple of weeks. Everyone is very nice. No-one can help me. I'm giving up on the internet and reverting to parchment and quill.

According to my bumper book of economic facts India will have a population of over 1.5 billlion people by 2050 as it races past China to become the country with the biggest population. It will rule the world.

John's bumper book of economic facts quiz: According to the book Geneva is the best city in the world in terms of quality of life, closely followed by Zurich. Which is the city with the lowest quality of life? Answers on a postcard to the usual address.

One day I will go to the congo and drink some Um Bongo.

Things for Room 101:
Cyclists who ignore red lights,
Colds,
People who don't say thank you when you hold a door for them.
