Is it only me that gets annoyed when XFM and Radio 6 publicise "secret" gigs? |

No! Suddenly everyone in the world is going to gigs and its impossible to get a tickets. Which leads me onto:
Is it worth paying £30 to watch the Manic Street Preachers? |

No.
Is it worth paying £30 to watch any band (festival tickets excluded)? _________________ Britain... It's not that Great! |

No. All bands should cost £6 regardless.

Because the rise of terrorism, the spectre of bird flu, the use of women football officials, the ubiquity of Russell Brand , the hype about new Rave, the puzzle of Englands form in the one day series and the fact that "I Don't Feel Like Dancing" by Scissor Sisters is still in the top 40, mean that we live in difficult and confusing times. Even the cleverest people in the world sometimes need somewhere to turn to find help. This thread offers clarity and guidance to those special folks.
Did I spell 'ubiquity' correctly? |

Yes.
Did I or did I not, use Outlook to check that spelling? _________________ "fashioned by the blade of a world that doesn't care,

Nope, they're alright I reckon. They've got at least four really good songs and a sprinkling of alright ones. It'll be interesting to hear what they do with their second album.
On an unrelated note, hope Tony Wilson is OK. It took me years to work out that the bloke who was involved with the Happy Mondays was the same person who presented Granada Reportsa and without Factory my teenage years would have been very different. I might have spent time going out and developing social skills rather than sat alone in my room listening to 'Substance' and reading NME. Good well soon Tony.
Which is worse? When football players you remember being promising youngsters start becoming managers or when bands you remember being promising youngsters start recieving lifetime achievement awards? |

Bands, because if they were promising but never lived up to it, what's the award for? Where as a player that never became Maradona can still be a good coach.

If he's got all the time in the world - 1 week, if he's a busy boy with work, deadlines or similar shit then 1 month (mind you I've taken over 3 months to lay some hard flooring for my girlfriend so what do my opinions count)
Mild winters, good or bad? I haven't scrapped ice off my car at all this year! _________________ Be sad, be happy and be wise |

Mild Winters = bad. How can I pull off 20 metre skids with ice-free paving?
3 months? That's nothing! I finished my spare room flooring two weeks ago, after starting it in August 2005!
Also, It's much worse for a band than a footy player. Footy careers last about 20 years at the very top, but a lifetime achievement for 13 years worth of output? The majority of which is average? Pah.
Does anyone have a copy of IK+ on the Gameboy Advance they are willing to sell to me?

Sadly not.

Yes - dipping giNger nuts!
Does anyone have an opinion on the internet rumours that the masked & annonymous members of The Black Serpent Choir (see tune of the day thread, old Sparky post) include Martin Carr and/or one of the SFAs? _________________ Scattershot Writing: www.jameseverington.blogspot.com |
