Bristol is really nice apart from the people!
Its gonna be a top fest, all the early bird £10 tckts have gone already. Its 3 good venues, the Louis is the pick but Thekla has been done up very indie respectfully and Fiddlers is a social club by day with a top stage, its really quite cool. Apparently Nova Saints are opening (solid Bristol band, most locals I know don't like them 'cos they think they sound like Oasis, actually its more Verve Northen Soul album and its hardly surprising McCabe is now producing them) with Kate Nash headling Fiddlers and NYPC headlining Thekla. The only downer will be not being able to see them all but hopefully you'll be at the Louis or Thekla 'cos Fiddlers is the most out of the way!
Will keep an eye on Bristol fanzines for reviews of the gig and if there's any of you i'll let you know! _________________ Britain... It's not that Great! |

I'm also very much looking forward to this coming Monday night. Fanfarlo tunes make me very happy in a morbid kind of way, just like Mr Carrs older songs used to

...And enjoy it I certainly did! Harold T Wilkins (?) was a fantastic song and my only disappointment of the night was that Outsiders was only available to buy on vinyl!
Simon (I assume it's Simon? Anyway, the vocalist) has a beautiful voice.
Mark, it was great to meet you and have a drink (water!) with you. I'll buy you a proper drink in a months time.

Does your name come from this, or is it just a coicedence?
"...Baudelaire's ...novella La Fanfarlo, a gently mocking study of love and passion that brilliantly evokes the art of dance."

Cracking session on Radio one this evening. Future Pop classics hit singles in the making indeed.
