What's the stopping distance at 70 miles per hour?

Since I passed my test I have never reversed around a corner, done a parallel park or a three point turn. I just drive in a straight line and hope for the best.

There's no point in stopping at 70, you'll only get blamed for summat.

I want a triumph stag and racing goggles.

Funny - I am another old git belatedly learning to drive, and every time it starts to piss me off (quite a lot) that line from Ride The Tiger about not needing/wanting a "fuel-infected car" goes through my head...

Congratulations.

why now?

i've been thinking of maybe starting to think about getting round to arranging to start having lessons for a long time, but haven't haven't quite yet. waiting at bus stops in winter is miserable, but maybe less than learning to drive in birmingham would be.

Well done Martin. Smile

Driving is great fun. I especially like driving round London at night, you can get anywhere in 10 mins, it's great. Shame cars cost so much though, I blame not being able to even think about buying a house on having a car soaking up all my money.

I drove to Rome recently with my girlfriend, it was amazing, we drove over the alps and all the way to the Med! Crazy!

if I could just drive through the countryside or empty roads and never need to park I'd be fine, but after failing twice I realised I was never going to be a driver in London.

Well done, old man!
